Default brushed motor options

So I've been reading through old threads and it seems all the good brushed motors are no longer being made. I would like to stay brushed can someone point me in the right direction of what is still being made?

Losi RX-280 Mini Slider motor, or the Losi Insane seem to be getting good results. The RX-280 can be had pretty cheap, just need to sand the flutes off of the shaft and/or drill out your pinion to fit. They sound a bit rough and don't have the run time some others have, but they have great drag brake and wheel speed for the money.

The Brood Anarchy is pretty good if you use the right gearing. If you can though try and get a hold of a Crawler mafia or a Holmes Hobbies Torquemaster Mini. Look in the Classifieds for them and post a Want to Buy in the wanted section. I found one really fast just last week by posting a want to buy. You will need 30 posts though to get to the classifieds.

Ya :P buy a star. I'm going to get one soon but I just would rather spend my money on my crawler right now since I don't have a lot of money.

The CM and HH were the obsolete ones I was refering to. Trying to work on the post count as well. Saw the brood anarchy looks like these r my only options then. Was hoping there were a couple more but all of these r what I have found.

For new there are not many left that are good.

You've been given some options, there is also the Stump Puller, you find them new now & then, but not often.

Quite a few have used small brushless motors in the MRC.

Yup...yer boned.

Seriously tho...there really aren't many options anymore. I have 3 of the Brood Anarchy motors & they're OK. Im currently running a 17t Contraband & couldn't be happier. I also have a 19t Contraband & a HH Mini TM & they're killer as well.

Ive run the Novak BL setup & was happy with it. Other than the large esc...its a great option. They have decent torque & wheel speed & are maintenance free.

I actually have a new motor going up today...called the Frenzy. I did a search, didn't find any motors using the name....sue me I guess.

These are machine wound, 22t.....preset timing....good stuff...best part, CHEAP....they work with stock gearing, but I still think they perform better with the bigger spur.

The Anarchy REALLY need the gearing mod.....they are good little motors once they are geared right. The stock losi gearing is a bit too steep for most motors out there.

Damn you Eddie...now I gotta buy ANOTHER 380 can motor. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE my Apocalypse motors on my 2.2 comp rig & will only run Broods on her. Im excited to see the new motor.

The Anarchy IS a killer little motor once you up the spur & down the pinion. I'll say this...after dealing with a lot of different vendors...EddieO is top shelf all the way. I wish all of em were like that.

Team Losi 1:18 Mini-T Frenzy 370 Motor (1): MLST/2 MRAM LOSB0835 | eBay

There is the link to the Frenzy. It's a Losi 370 motor. Way cheap too.

99xj eddie builds motors and if his new one is as good as the rest it would blow the losi frenzy out of the water.

I apprecaite the kind words...

The new motor I have, I called the Frenzy....I didn't pick the name, nor did it pop up on a trademark search.....didn't realize there was a Losi one called Frenzy.

The losi a sealed can and endbell unit...

Mine is different

Man and right after I get my new Holmes motor. I'm going to have to get one of these. Is this a lot more torquey than the Anarachy? The Anarchy does fairly good but just doesn't have the toruqe it needs for the stock gearing. That is an AMAZING price too.

I thought the torque felt pretty good...they don't have the oomph of an Anarchy, but they do fairly well. A couple people who tested them, kept them in over their older motors (anarchys included)....they REALLY come alive with the gearing mod though....but I think that really applies to every motor, even the CM or HH or even the Brushless stuff....

Price is pretty good I think for a machine wound that you can get some power out of and replace the brushes if needed. Might wanna buy two or three before they are gone
