| Dravtech/Shapeways MRC Wrapter and rear lockers
Hi All I've sent Tobias an email a few day ago, but I'll bet he's a busy chap! I have recieved a Shapeways order of Dravtech's Losi Mini Rock Crawler Lockout for rear axle, Wrapter for Losi Mini Rock Crawler and Losi MRC Rear Upper Link Mount and am really happy with the quality of the printing - my issue is how the damn things are put together! The rear upper link mount is easy to sort, but I thought that the rear lockouts took the stock axles with the addition of a few new bearings - there is no room for the stock shafts to fit (I'm using Vaterra Slickrock axles which are 'identical' to the MRC's) Also have a set of Axial RR10 Bomber front C hubs, arms and shafts (not UJ's) which I realise will need to be cut down to fit, but using the stock mount points for the Wrapters, it looks like I'll end up with an 8" axle width (end to end) - I need stock width of 7" for my scaler build... Have I attempted to go too far on these parts as they are geared towards the rock crawler market rather than a scale one? If not, short of cutting the front axle housing down considerably and some form of new rear one peice shaft, I can't really see the parts working for me - please tell me how dumb I am below! |

You'll need a set of axial rear shafts.. Wraith, Bomber, scx, ax, etc.. They need cut to length and tangs(same as the front shafts) As for width.. There are some tricks to get them narrower.. Cut the bearing pocket off and cut the C's back to the screw holes.. You'll gain half a inch or better. You can take a 1/8" off the stock housing and sit the Wrapters further on the housing.. You'll be closer to 7" |
