Got some action shots today. Still a lot left to do, but couldn't resist

Your Defender looks right at home in its natural environment. Great build. Love how the exo cage turned out.

Awesome job man, this thing looks killer!
Love the brazing work as well

Quick question, did you buy the brake line in a coil or in straight lengths?
I've been trying to find SOMEWHERE in Aus but it seems like nobody sells straight lengths of the stuff...

Thanks mate. I bought a coil off eBay from a place in Adelaide I believe. It's fairly easy to straighten by hand and possible to get completely straight if you have the patience

I thought it looked a bit bare without a driver so I added one that I had from years ago

Got the roof rack made today. It's more or less a flat bed that will be secured with screws so I am able to remove it if I don't feel like having it on.

I'm intending on installing a light bar between the bottom of the roof rack and the top of the bar above the front windscreen.

I also got a few more lights installed, including the number plate light. Really love how it looks. Don't know why, but it's my favourite little part so far haha. Also added some mud flaps that I made from bicycle tyre tubing

Nice work on the rack. How heavy is this in total now?

Thanks mate. It weighs in at 4.1kg. Quite heavy. Going to need to upgrade to some stiffer springs

Got the winch installed today. It's a Yeah Racing dual motor winch. Can't say I'm overly impressed. The gears on one of the motors stripped so I'm just running it with one motor. Oh well. If it doesn't hold up, I'll get myself an RC4WD one.

I also tackled the sagging suspension issue. I had a look at my old stock SCX10 shocks and saw that the longer of the two on the shock was almost the same size, but considerably stiffer. I swapped them over to the CMX and added a spacer to make up for the size difference and they seem to be holding up well!

I also made up a little clamp mount to hold a spot light at the rear

This should be all I need for the roof rack, yeah?

I broke one of the little tabs at the rear that held the bumper so thought I better reinforce it with some aluminium

I then went about making a scale CB antenna. I used the below parts

And here they are together

I then glued the ball end and joint together and began to wrap a wire around the screw

For the top, I folded the wire back over on itself

Then got some heat shrink tubing and a small ball bearing. I widened one end of the heat shrink and placed the ball bearing inside

Then place it over the top of the wire and heat and mould into the correct spot

Wow there's so much awesome in this truck! Great work! That's how you get back into a hobby with authority.

I love the weathering and broken window.

Arnold looks great in there.

Clever idea with the antenna.

I could go on.

I will say that all RC winches seem to be based off of the same motor and gearbox. The RC4WD ones are no better. You can get motor and gearbox upgrades from a robotics store. You'll find that info if you look hard enough.

Thanks mate! That's good to know regarding the winches. It seems to be working ok with one motor for now but I have a spare just in case.
