| Chevy mega truck!
Hey guys, I posted this up in the scx10 thread and don't think the crawler guys cared to much for it haha. So I will try again here. Got a wraith and a yeti so I wanted something different. Going for the above look. Smaller tires with a low wide stance. This will also be my first chassis where I attempt to any brazing. So far only mods are BMT conversion with rc4wd wheels and tires. Currently running on 3s. Will also be making my own links in the next few days so that the body lines up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

| I am hoping so! Should learn a lot with this rig. Thanks for the kind words! For stock links and shocks, this thing lands fairly smooth. Ripped the Bead on one of my brand new mud bashers though. Got some ssd beadlocks on the way and see if those hold better than these rc4wd units. Getting all of my material to start braizing this week! Look for updates. Began fooling around with brazing tonight. After spending about $150 on nonsense haha I am starting. Brake line using brazing rod which came out ok I guess.(yes I made it bare before joining) And here with 1/8 inch steel rod using stay silv 45 Are they strong? I don't know haha but hyped they actually stuck together. Plan on being hungover Sunday so I may pull the truck apart and begin the chassis! Frame rails are only like $40 right? Let's screw up a few sets learning haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by THX_138; 12-26-2015 at 05:48 PM. |

The clod body looks right at home on a mud truck, like the look. Kudos for trying your hand at brazing also, I have yet to give that a try.

Started to bend up some pieces to the chassis. I am better at just making stuff work than drawing them out and making sweet templates. I also may switch it up to 3/16 brake line. The 1/8 rod seems a little small and not sure if it'll take the beating I'll give it haha. Also switched to SSD Beadlocks. I ripped two beads on the mud bashers on stock everything on 3S with the RC4WD units. Also debating on if I should mount the body low or high. Really want that low and wide look of a mega truck but just being indecisive. Ghetto mock up of each Lower Will do more during the week. To many projects! Quote:
Thanks! Brazing is pretty straight forward and easy. The hardest part is getting a creative way to hold your rods in place while brazing. Gonna have to sit down and make some kind of jig to hold things in place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by THX_138; 12-26-2015 at 05:49 PM.

Soon! Going to buy some more steel tonight and just dive into a chassis design. Also thinking of running a yeti setup for some power. Used ones on here are pretty cheap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is giving me ideas for that new F-350 hard body I've had on a shelf for the last 7 years.

(Ignore that drunk cut on the clod bed haha) Got my new workbench from the ole harbor freight. As well as my rod bender. Getting closer and closer to learning that I can't design a chassis for crap haha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Cheddarcheesus; 03-17-2016 at 09:23 PM. |

Started getting the main part of the chassis. Not really sure what I am doing on designing a chassis haha. Kind of going off of pictures on google and just winging it. So far so good. Figured I would just build something and then make another one with all of the things I learned from this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Those are rc4wd 1.9 Mud Bashers mounted on rc4wd wheels. From my understanding all rc4wd tires will fit any of there wheels. So just look around there. Mounting tires on those Beadlocks is a real pain.
