| Just under 3.5 inches with the tires on. Got the axles mounted up today. I tried to work as accurately as I could, and the axles still arent dead straight, but it will work. 8 brass shackle plates, 12 2-56 bolts and nuts, and the 4 spring plate screws on the axles are 0-80. Spring hangers on the frame are built up out of styrene strips and CA. Kinda crude but it feels plenty strong, and the girlfriends nail file works wonders for shaping the styrene. Transmission and driveshafts in, Its a roller! Trans will have to come back out to fit the floor. Madatory poser shot! Once the electrics are in, it should flex out on the battery stood on end. Springs are actually pretty soft. It should have some axle wrap like my 1:1... -YB |

No thread at scale4x4, seems like there is a lot more LMC traffic over here... Mounted the floor and steering servo today. The servo Im using is a GWS narrow from one of my old parkflyer airplanes a couple years ago. seems to be the perfect size, and Im guessing it has as much torque as the stock losi servo. In this picture you can see I had to add a small body lift. I used 1/8" square stock styrene about 1/2" long in 5 spots. Also lengthened the rear driveshaft about 3/8" with aluminum tubing. Not much compression left, but it works. -YB |

Looking very cool. Nice job on the leaf work. I question the strength of that chassis no matter now small these things are. One tumble and I see something snapping off. Either way, keep up the great build. |

| Hell yeeeeea youngblood, this is exactly the level of Losi Micro build I've been waiting to see. That looks absolutely fan-frickin-tastic so far. Do you have any plans for smaller wheels and tires, or are you sticking with the stockers? With the level of detail possible in a build like this, due to the compatibility with 1:24th model kits, the wheels/tires have to be on par with the rest. Subscribed... |

Thanks for the compliments guys! Quote:
Mounted the esc/receiver and battery. There wasnt enough room for the power switch between the esc and the trans, so I moved it to the side of the steering servo. Battery is mounted on the front of the servo using double-sided tape. Made a steering link out of a z bent brass rod inside of an aluminum tube, CA'd into a cut down stock ball end. I also had to make a spacer to lift the brass steering ball to clear my leaf spring. It's tight, but everything fits under the hood! Need to come up with a hinge or something for the hood, so I can charge the battery. Idea's? -YB | |

Brace yourself for a "help Bob understand moment" your two side rails of that chassis come w/ a lil 1/24th model kit? and you are simply cutting and pasting it back to match the skid? |

| Yes, the frame came with the 1:24 Commando model kit, and the 2 frame rails and 4 crossmembers are cast as 1 piece. All I did was narrow the stock LMC skid plate to the kit's frame width. Hope this helps.
