Hi TownsendTdi, Thank you, Solidworks has the best render capabilities. The dimensions are on the shapeways site. The 1/20 is 6.5" long and the 1/16 is 8.4" long. |

I love it Jim! Is the fastback version next? To be honest, that's the one I'm waiting for. I've already got ideas rolling around for one. I'm just trying to figure out if it's possible to chassis mount the servo so I could use some RC4WD 1/18 axles.

Sorry I wasn't going to do the truck and fastback versions, at least not right away. I think something new would be more rewarding of my time invested. It might be easier to axle mount the servo. The RC4WD axles are called 1/24 by them. I think they are a wide 1/24 axle. Either way I think they would look great under this chassis. It is my plan to make this work with RC4WD, Sumo, Trekker, and Ambush axles. Thanks |

That's cool. It's easy enough to convert it to a fastback. Now to convince the wife to let me spend some money!

Thanks for the comments! I have the first 1/20 Specter frame here. The sumo trans fits well. The losi is too tight, I will fix that. I now have an ambush, so the next version I will try to add it too. I have a full plate but will also get to work on the body wrap for it. I will also get to painting this chassis with primer. Thanks for watching! |

I fixed the losi mount and improved the sumo mount. I updated the files on shapeways if anyone wants to follow along. I haven't got the ambush tore down yet, but hope to soon. Thanks for watching. Last edited by Fungi; 02-05-2017 at 04:39 PM. |

Here is a quick look at the 1/20 Specter, fully sprung with Losi Trail Trekker gear. I need to lower it a bit by using Micro-T springs, or cutting the stock springs. The wheelbase is about 6.125". It has gobs of flex if you're into that sort of thing. Thanks for watching. |

Got the 1/20 Specter lowered a bit to semi droop by cutting three loops off the shock springs. The shocks are mounted to the highest position on the frame. I think I need to lower them a bit because the front tires are all over the hood tubing in flex. It's capable of a bic lighter flex, well, to the gas valve anyway. This is shown using 1/4" offset rims on Trekker axles. The Losi transmission is oriented with the motor pointing forward. A 130 motor upgrade will fit, but the motor does just make contact to the lower dash tubing. I can turn it around so the motor points to the rear. This would completely open the drivers side for a driver. Last edited by Fungi; 02-16-2017 at 01:58 PM. |

Looks great! But where is the dual wheels on all 4 corners? In the works building a micro course from cardboard box and expandable foam. This sure would make a great additional to use on it along with my Gelande2. |

Thanks SurfinStud, This chassis would so rock those dual wheels! I have made some changes to the 1/20th scale Specter. In this new version the upper link mounts have been moved inward about .06" to better fit losi axles, and I beefed up the front shock mount a bit. The big change is the Losi trans has been turned around to face the motor rearward. I uploaded this new version to shapeways today. Thanks for watching. |

I've been getting more change requests on the facebook page. I have added more shock mount options. I will also be making whatever mounting brackets are needed to mount the Sumo, Ambush, or RC4WD axles. This latest version is not on the shapeways store yet. I will probably do it today. Any feedback on what specifically needs changed on the upper links? I have completed the design of the body wrap and it fits. The good (and bad) thing about 3d printing these is changes can be implemented very quickly... |

The transmission will mount, but I have not even looked at the axles yet. Some custom brackets may be necessary, shouldn't be too complicated or expensive. The shocks are really short, you may need to grab up some Trekker shocks, or possibly Sumo shocks. I honestly can't see any insurmountable obstacles. I modified the hood drawing to fit the larger scale chassis. Now to make the vacuum forming pucks. |

So does this mean you will eventually be offering a "body kit" for the 1/20 scale Specter? And do you have an approximate size/length on the upper and lower links you made for your mockup, that came out to the 6.125 WB? I will be ordering one come around march 11th. |

Yes I'm working on making the hood and roof body panels. The roof will be last. I have some material on order and will be cnc cutting the puck, where in the past I 3d printed them. I can get Corian for $2 and cnc the mold, or pay $95 for a 3d printed one... I already have the body wrap drawn up and it fits well. The overall length of the upper links are 2" and the lowers are 2.5", although I'm thinking about lowering the wheelbase to 6". Thanks for watching. |

Greetings all Just received one of Fungi's 1/20 Specter frames, sweet little frame. Just need some opinions on parts. I have an Ambush transfer case, and a choice between Ambush axles and a pair of axles from a 1/18 Gelande II. Which would be a better choice? Thanks Crash |
