I swapped over to 1/10 but this makes me want to get a micro again. Good to see you back Chevy. Been a long time.

Omg you are not wrong. I can count the number of micros that got released and within months had zero aftermarket parts and were discontinued. It really is a niche market and if you don't hit it just right its gonna fail and fail hard.

Is this a unique chassis or is it a rebranded micro?

Being an Axial product , I'm hoping this opens up parts availability and third party hop up options.

I’ve got mixed feelings on this release. I would think a 1/18 Wraith or Bomber would be the thing to do. The micro market is difficult to manufacture for, IMO. Losi had a good run but as soon as the pulled the LMcC and the Trekker the scene started to peter out.

With the flooding of the “WPL” RCs I really thing something with axles that size would be a hit.

They won't because the majority of micros don't sell enough to keep them around. That's why this release is laughable.

But has any big manufacturer tried? Losi isn't a big name around here (by that, I mean Canada), but Axial is.

I do agree that 1/18 would have been nicer, but maybe with the brand and potential for third-party upgrades, this one might have a good run.

I hope so. I just ordered one.

One look at those worm gears did it for me!

I just wish it was a unimog like the new 1/10th unimog they just released. Im not a deadbolt look fan at all. But that can be changed easily. Excited to get mine and review.

Losi is part of Horizon. Are you telling me Horizon isn't big in Canada? Now Horizon even owns Axial.

Yes, many brands have dabbled in micros. Horizon has even had a few under at least a couple of brands under their unbrella (Losi and ECX come to mind).

To clarify, we can get stuff for Losi vehicles (and anything from Horizon), but actual stocked parts may only take up a single shelf vs an entire wall.

I guess when I see what scalers and cralwers people in my local groups use, they tend to be Traxxas or Axial for the most part - guys who run other brands always complain that parts aren't easy to get.

I'd be way more comfortable with an Axial micro (or a Traxxas one) if I had to choose.

That's how I feel. At least this one will hopefully have a mass of upgrades for it like all the other Axial products seem too.

I somehow doubt that aside from basic Chinesium cast parts.

Time will tell, but the most successful Micros use similar setups and standard sized parts.

If they did that people would complain yet again that they are just rehashing old parts and never make anything unique like they did with the Jr/Canaan line. Micro crawlers are far more popular than any axial 1/18 and those into micro crawlers wanted this for years

True. I’ve wanted an Axial micro for years but would rather a 1/18 Axial cage crawler. But that’s just my one opinion. I don’t think these will ‘take off’ but I’d also like to see them become a thing. Folks are knocking the work gear axles but it’s cost effective vs a drag brake.

I agree, 1/18 would of been a better choice, but it is cool to see a axial micro. Thinkin of gettin a few for me n my boys to tool around with from time to time

1/18 would make it a mini, not a micro. Micros are 1/24 or smaller, as per this forum at least. Personally I’m glad it’s a 1/24 scale. Finally a decent micro to replace the Losi. With all the wpl trucks flooding the forum I think people have forgotten what a micro really is, or that at one time there was actually a good micro scene going on here until Losi discontinued the trail trekker. At that time there was a good aftermarket scene as well, you just had to look. I’d rather be optimistic than skeptical about Axials new release. I’m hoping it’s just what’s needed to revive the micro scene.
