HobbyPlus CR-24/CR-18 030 motor in 100t for a bolt in motor upgrade. Available on AsiaTees

The slightly longer 050 motor from an ECX Barrage/RGT Adventurer/FTX Outback available on AsiaTees and eBay, you will have to drill motor mount holes in the opposite position. (Easy)

Generic 050 high torque motors from eBay. Some need motor mount holes drilled.

Or one of the best brushed combos is a PN racing 130 motor (Big block upgrade) with a brass pinion. And a motor plate adapter

While you could get this motor alone cheaper and just drill two holes. This makes it real easy!

This is not the 130 big block. But I think its very nice none the less. It what I run.

Yeah I was looking at the Barage motor as an upgrade to stock. Just put on some wheel weights and the motor wasnt doing too hot with the low mode on the controller. Wanting to get the RC4WD steel beadlocks eventually and know I'll need something more powerful. I am new to the whole crawling scene, so learning as I go. Thanks!

I have put 050 size 55t by hobby plus into each of my boys SCX24s. Polarity is reverse so you will have to swap the leads or pins in the connector. I soldered on the leads from the factory motors since the CR18 leads are a little short.

Part number HBP240118

Interesting. Does anyone know if this motor is better than the RGT/barrage version?

I bought some barrage motors and they did not come with a pinion. Does anyone know were I can buy some 0.3 mod with 1.5mm bore pinions and what size (teeth count) do you guys run. Also any info on tools needed to change the pinion and any tips on doing it. Thanks for any info

Mine was in a separate bag in the RGT motor bag. Almost missed it and threw everything away. Maybe double check if you still have the packaging?

So I got the RGT Barrage motor in. So much better!!! I did lose instant reverse, which kinda sucks, but I'll get used to it.

I have the Dynamite on back order, so it will be interesting to see what that one does once it comes in stock.

Thanks for the heads up jayhawk , I never even opened the bag yet so i went and looked and they did come with 12 tooth plastic pinions. Stock is 11 and the RC4WD motor has a 10 tooth.
Is the Barrage motor any faster and what is the deal with no instant reverse.

Also to be sure ,I need to reverse the wires in the plug onthe Barrage motor.

And thanks bigworm for the link. At least I have a part # now.

The RGT had so much more power than stock. I have some minor mods, wheel weights and brass hex hubs, that the stock motor got hung up on in low gear.

Not sure about why it doesn't have instant reverse. Thought that that was dictated by ESC.

Yes you will have to swap wires for it to work and cut 1 leg off your battery tray for it to fit.

Try re-binding your transmitter to fix reverse issue. If you're switching wires, your end points are probably off now or your failsafe isn't registering correctly.

On the stock SCX24 receiver/ESC?
I believe that this feature is controlled with the black jumper on the brake pins.

Axial Racing - AE-6 ESC/Rx (Forward/Reverse)

The AE-6 ESC/Receiver features a jumper for setting one of two brake options (brakes, or instant reverse), two LED light ports, an auxiliary port (channel 3), a channel 2 port, and a steering servo port.
