Default Scx24 Front Overdrive Options?

Has anyone looked into some sort of overdrive options for the scx24? I know it's a micro crawler, but was wondering if there had been any gearing options for the front diff, or even if there was a way to do it with different size tires on front and rear. Any help would be appreciated.

Different sized tires will work although look kinda odd and don't want more than about 10-15% overdrive imo/ime.

Would be nice if OD/UD gears were available, but I don't know of any at them moment, maybe somebody else does?

That's what I figured, thank you for response. Been playing around with different ideas but I think it's only a matter of time before people with 3d printers and cnc machines get bored enough to make some different gear ratio.

Interesting question. I wonder if something this small would really benefit from that though? Seems to me that bigger tires, more torque and wheel speed gets almost everything you throw at it done as it is.

OP, your posts seem to reflect that you want to mod this thing.

I would get a new motor for easy and great bang for the buck results.

IF you want a wider stance, this is a great option. They will space your wheels out and they are beadlocks. You get free crappy, but cool looking monster truck tires with them too. Most use bigger RC4WD tires on these rims (for those who have them).

New motor and wider stance really help this thing.

Heres how those wheels will look if interested.

Have you looked at Losi micro crawler/ trail trekker axles? I’m not sure if the gear ratios are different, but they are both worm gears. I believe I read somewhere the losi axles are 12:1. Not sure what the axial axles are.

I will look into this. I actually interested in finding out if this would make a difference in the way it behaves.

I believe the losi axle is geared lower then the scx24. Just keep in mind too the losi axle is much shorter in length.

Thank you. I'll look into it and maybe find a way to extend the axles or to see which if any gears are interchangeable.

It would be cool if we could change the top gear in the worm assembly.

From what I've seen they look the same. But haven't counted the teeth yet.
