Default Neglected SCX24 Get's Loved Again - MOFO Ugly AF

So I had this around the time they came out v1 electrics etc. Had loads of fun around the house making courses as you do. Slowly, it evolved into the spec you see below, RC4WD Steelies, the original Furitek Komodo + brass, emax servo and 10% over

So I kinda fell out of love with it while it it was in this spec, great power and control, but it was way to top heavy and as a result spent a while packed away and forgotten about, just being checked on to make sure it still worked. No kinda life Then a recent trip to Greece and a realisation I could fit in in my luggage sparked new love with my 24! Got hold of a titainium MOFO Ugly AF Chassis, along with the brass skid and got to work!

I decided to go back to brushed just for weight balance in the interim, grabbed an injora motor to suit

Did a bit more arch trimming, flatted and weathered the body (read stage 1) and threw on some injora 43mm shocks running springless full droop and banded in the front with springs in the rear........and got on the plane

Injora motor kept cutting out and didn't even last the first run, had to switch back to the stock motor. Other than that, I really liked how she was handling in the new form

Current state of play is CCXRC front CVDs added and and Injora 33% underdrive for the rear axle, which should add up to a 40 something overall. It's definately turning better.

Stage 2 weathering, steelies flipped

Looks good.. really like the weathering detail. I need some better tires like those on mine. I also need a chassis with more room/ options for electronics placement. I may give that one a look.

I have to agree with high plains drifter on the weathering . Very nice job . I like the low and wide look .

Thanks guys. Should be going back to brushless with a motor that fits propperly soon, and have a few goodies on a slow boat from LGRP including a few new tires to try out.

Snap! Swamp Kings are in the order as are Trench Kings, but the longer I wait for them, the less I think there gonna make it here

In fact, I've just made another order more local and stuck some Injora Swamp Stompers on it to keep me happy in the meantime

I'll sure have a few sets to test with eventually

The first of many tire swaps happened

Injora Swamp Stompers. I can see more archwork incoming. At 58x24 These are the smallest diameter but widest tires i've ordered, already can see some nice axle clearance

New propulsion methods too!

Although the gearbox wasn't impressed by the new powerz and loadings, after a few laps around the room it took a dump on my party .
Guess I'll be looking for somthing metal now

Got plenty more to come, have plans to stretch the rear, maybe the front. CCXRC pine trees sitting here but they wasnt the best fit for those, so held off. Mighty Eagle servo also on the bench waiting for a chance to get fitted

What tires are you using in the first photos? They look pretty wide .

They are RC4WD Rock Creepers, 48x22mm so relatively wide for their diameter and pretty grippy. An awesome tire choice for that size.

Amazon got me back out wheelin

I traded some scale for performance and did a temp chop job on the rear, saying goodbye to my rear lights and hey to some longer links

the front is chopped about as far as it will go before its bye bye to the front lights too

Unsure how to go about it, but most likely will loose the rear hinge for some velcro or another magnet, and maybe loose the front lights and shift the body back to balance the wheelbase. Thoughts?

Been a lil a mixup with the LGRP package but hopefully thats back on track now and I might have made another MOFO order too

Gonna have so many tires, thought it best to get some more rims

Also grabbed a BSME, a second esc tray to help with a rear body mount, trans gears to rebuild the old box and ally sliders, although I really want plastic ones, but will try them out

What you got coming?

Nice, hopefully they restock for you asap

Here is a quick tree crawl I did the other day, just uploaded, still think bigger tires will improve things more.

Thanks. It sure is lots, but does help with the turning. Watching that front wheel spin when I was editing that made me consider going back to stock front, which would bring it back to 33% but until it causes a problem, its not one
