If you were going to pick up a 1/24 scale, what would it be outside of a scx deadbolt? What are you having the most fun with while crawling and bashing?

In my opinion the fcx24 is great Rtr truck, it has the 2spd transmission, waterproof, and can turn lights on and off from remote. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd consider 1/24 and 1/18 in the same category considering most that are advertised as 1/24 are closer to 1/20 or 1/18 and using the same wheels, tires, and axles. That being said I feel the scx24 is a bit dated compared to other options. If you already have an SCX24 I'd definitely consider any of the FCX24/FCX18 options if you want a more detailed hard body, or the HobbyPlus CR-18P or CR-18P Evo if you prefer a lighter lexan body. The Traxas TRX4M 1/18 is also a great option, even though for crawling I feel like it could use the optional lower gears or a better ESC, or at least upgrade the transmitter to the better Traxas controller. If you're doing lots of trail runs the stock gearing may be better for you. It may sound like the TRX4M has the disadvantage, but it has more aftermarket support than the other options I've mentioned, and even though they aren't portals the best axles in my opinion. If I was starting from scratch I think I would seriously consider the TRX4m platform. I think over all it is better built and with some fine tuning makes a good crawler. I agree with spoo76 that the crawler gears are a must for low speed control for crawling, $5 option. I got into the micro crawlers before Traxxas & FMS got into the game so I have more SCX24's than anything. They are not bad and there's many hop up parts available for them. I have 1 FMS K5 Blazer and it is a nice truck. The 2 speed is definitely a nice option. Makes it good for crawling and trailing both. Out of the box it need oil in the shocks, O-rings are included in the box but no directions, YouTube can fix that. Out of those 3 I don't think there is a bad choice.
