Default GSpeed G-6x6 TGH-V3 carbon fiber chassis SavageAF6x6

Pre-orders from GSpeed just opened on their G-6x6 Custom Chassis, so I had to do it

https://gspeedchassis.com/collection...-only-in-stock

I have been looking to build a new custom 6x6 for awhile after I converted an old "let my friends drive with us type rig", SCX10 into my: SCX10 Purp6X6 truck

So in comes the GSpeed G-6x6 as Ive been intrigured on their stuff with all the LCG action they got going on looks so awesome on the lines they pull up on Mt Diablo that I know so well. Ive been hearding about this 6x6 chassis they had been designing and so as a fellow Bay area guy I had to go ahead and just pull the trigger on the fun! So I probably spent too much money but they have so many goodies I had to keep clicking add to cart hahaha there was so much to get from them it was great how awesome this is going to be:

G-MP Multi Platform Panhard mount,
G-LD LayDown CMS Servo mount,
Square Spacers Black Anodized,
Vader Products Black Delrin Skid plate,
TGH-V3 Electronics Tray Sliders black,
and a spare Raw Carbon Steel TGH-V3 chassis, maybe next build.
oh yea and gotta add me some stickers too of course ....

Just gotta wait for it all to get in stock and to me so I can have some fun towards the end of this month building this beast.
yyyeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Default Axle goodies

So been busy and forgot to post up these additional goodies ive had for awhile waiting in anticipation.

Plan is to use AR60 axles (Ive always wanted an AR60 based 6x6) with rear steer, I also have all the parts to do all wheel steer if I want.
If they don't work out I might try out Portals or AR44.
Already had all these goodies so just gotta get them all
built up so they are ready to go when I get the chassis.

Vanquish C-Hubs, Knuckles, VVD, Steering links, Brass bushings.
Locked Up Heavyweight FI spool and OT straight shaft.
OD front and UD rear HD gears
Fast Eddy Bearings
Hot Racing rear universals
SuperShafty Bulletproof scx transmission with Vanquish motor plate
Will use MIP driveshafts as I have tons.
And I will custom make all thread links, Steel outer on lowers and aluminum outer on uppers.

Not sure what tires im gonna use yet, I have all these sets of
6 wheels and tires. Kinda thinking the 2.2 Rockbeast XORs.

And then of course these electronic goodies to go inside.
Mamba X, Slate 2280kv (or may use a Tekin Pro4 3300kv)
Hitec 7990th and 9370th
And finish it with a Futaba R204gf-e
Probably will need to use a Castle BEC also, which I have around somewhere.

Awesome parts list! Ive decided to build another rig with this. I’m going with trx6 locking axles, GLD servo mount, vanquish 3 gear with dig, holmes motor and ESC, and a body that i was building for my trx6 that is hopefully lighter than the UMG or the merc body. I’m waiting on parts now and still need more of course. I’ll post updates and pics when i get it started.

So got axles pretty much done, forgot I needed an axle panhard mount, thought i had one for the OCP axles but could find it has servo on axle until parts get here, as I dont have chassis in hand yet anways. Will post pics when I do.

So all went good except the Vanquish Axles I was gonna use for the front had more slop in them compared to the Hot Racing ones I had, so they went in instead for now.

I couldnt get the imgur links to give me thumb pics anymore but here links to them until I figure it out.

I got my tracking information the other day, started working on the axles yesterday. It’s going to be a fun build. I need to start a thread on my build soon.

Edit: I got mine today, awesome.

Default Got it!!!!

So package came!!
I figured Id try my hand at a quick unboxing video, but this thing is sexy!!!
https://youtu.be/xnnU5k-SbSQ

All the other goodies I got are awesome too, I even mocked it up to see how it would all look and it went together prefectly. Everything is very nice quality and well made. Carbon fiber is strong and light, but stiff though bends enough to go from chassis spacers 67mm to skid 78mm wide. Did I mention it looks sexy, cant wait to get it all built, just waiting on a couple more parts to be able to mount axles and everything. I may taper the edges of the skid from the hard 90 degree. Images will be added shortly.

Let me know what ya think..... or what i should do next....

I’m sorry, i missed this post. I mounted a umg 6x6 body on my trx6 and while doing that i had to make adjustments to the bed depth. So this gave me the idea to use that bed with another cab and narrow it. So I’m going to try and pair it with an MST fj cab. I need to start working on painting it and see how it’s going to work. But now i have the Gspeed chassis i can see if its going to work without hacking up the bed floor. I need to start using tapatalk so i can post pictures easily, because this this forum sucks for pictures.

Sounds like its going to be a cool cab. Cant wait to see it.

I havent decided on what I'll do for a body yet. I do have a RC4WD Beast body laying around but may end doing something sweet and custom like your doing.

I’m excited to get it going and see how it fit. The problem with this build is i want it to look cool, but i should just be focusing on it being light. And i can tell you already the bed isn’t very light. But if it comes together like I’m imagining, it will look pretty sweet. I love my trx6, but it’s heavy AF. And the umg6x6 body weighs about the same as the original g63 body, but with way better approach and departure angles. And then the scalerfab metal bumper and sliders add weight. On the Gspeed I’m going with there little 3d sliders and a small comp front bumper.

Anyway, keep us posted with updates.

Got some good work in on her tonight. Got chassis all together fully and started to add front end in. Hope this doesn't overload the thread with all these pics hahaha.

Weighing the new parts. Chassis plates were 0.7g different each side.

Individual parts weights
GSPEED G-LD 26.2g

GSPEED Chassis sliders 51.4g

GSPEED G-MP 6.4g

GSPEED Spacers 17g

GSPEED AR44 panhard 8.3g

And entire chassis with SS screws 247g

Chassis together. I used the G-LD mount and G-MP for panhard.

SuperShafty BulletProof Transmission SCX10 184.6g

Total with Trans 416g

And front end all installed.

Its a tiny bit crooked but just gotta play with links a little bit tomorrow and it will be fine, as all 3 links were about 125mm. I may go a little shorter on the front upper.

Using Vanquish AR60 Panhard Mount on the axle and their panhard bar that comes with the kit seems to be perfect with existing steering rods so I dont get much bump steer and it all looks good.

Finally finished the initial build, it was delayed as my 1:1 Tacoma truck died as the rear differential blew up on the way to work one day, so I don't have a vehicle thus it's been a stressful week.

Anyways got my links all made and setup how I wanted, and drive shafts figured out, but turns out the MIP shafts I was trying to use with this build won't work as they are fairly wide and would contact the middle links, so got some Incision driveshafts which are slightly thinner and cleared the links. Also decided to use the short Incision shaft as my rear driveshaft but it was like 2mm too long and was binding the suspension so had to modify that slightly shorter.

All axles are everything is very tight now and very nice aesthetically.

So on to electronics. Had some problems here, using the Hitec 9381 and 9370 servos for front and rear steering, plus Mamba X and Slate 2850 motor combo. Granted this is the first sensored brushless I've built with, and ive used many MMMv3 esc so didn't think it would be that hard. But this Mamba X and 2850 Slate motor would not work together nicely, the motor would just keep cogging and not spin smoothly. The ESC fan was always on and never stopped. I even put on a different motor, a Tekin Pro4 3100, it did the same thing. I did find if I moved motor wires with the Tekin it would spin roughly and on the Slate I had to remove the sensor wire altogether to get it to move at all. Not sure whats up with this, and I was frustrated so I've just stopped for now before I smash it in frustration. Need to try a different ESC and/or sensor wire, hopefully one of them fixes it.

Had some time to work on it, just a new sensor wire didn't fix it so I solder up another Mamba X to do some testing, seems to work with the sensor wire now.

I really have decided what body I'll use yet. I have a RC4WD Beast 2 (hard) body but it's front ground clearance isn't good and it's overall heavy so I'm not sure yet. I have a few other bodies laying around too...may just do a cab only and then make a custom styrene flatbed, been doing some basic scale items with styrene already.
