Which tires are better? Losi, Axial or Hammers? What shock oil should I start with for a 2.2 crawler? Is a dig worth it, and does it prevent me from competing in a specific class? I've heard people say not to use digital servos, but I'm sponsored by JR and have several 9100T's lying around. What's wrong with digital servos, or is it just less torquey digitals that I don't want to use? Help a brother out. Last edited by froboy; 10-02-2008 at 06:36 PM. |

I use hammer tires but I've heard great things about losi's. I'm sure you want hear a whole lot of nice things about the stock axial lizard tires. I think there ok. For shock oil I use 50 wt. but its all preference. I also use a Jr Servo and I love it but its not digital, so I dont know what to tell you good or bad on that. Dig is worth every penny if set-up right.

Tire preference is a lot of personal choice. It also depends on the terrain that you're trying to crawl over. I have had good luck with the Losi Rock Claws. There has been an awful lot of positive feedback about the Panther Cougars lately too.

It was a question thread, but I'll post picks of my crawler when I'm finished with it. ![]() |

BTW, I may have a cable that will work for your camera. I will try and stop at the Plex either tonight or tomorrow night. ![]() |

So, I broke my first part today on The Plex indoor course. Not a c-hub, or a spindle. or even a shock or something... But my Delrin bottom skid plate! Pretty awesome. I'm definately getting an aluminum one now. I can't wait for Tuesday to do some more. |

| ![]() http://stampedeproject.com/RC-CAR-M/12-08-Cover.jpg Pull the December 2008 issue of RC Car and see the Tire test, Scott Hughes, Pete Bach (Dirk Digler) and myself did. Yep there is no magic pill, however based on my preferences and well over a couple month of analytical tire testing I will be going with Pro-Line Badlands. Again just personal preference. At least you can see where each excelled and was weak. Dig is worth it if you are going to compete... at least according to everyone I have every talked with. I have had more than a few people that have said that the Nationals course was impossible without dig and Gerame and Tom both indicated that they were at a disadvantage without dig at Crawlapoloza . I have the older VF/DNA dig unit which is very good, but lots of guys still compete without them. |

For the white rock on the outdoor course, I've found the flatiron's work very well. But for a good, all-around tire you just can't go wrong with Losi Claws... |

I don't actually know. I just looked underneath and it was split. I'm ordering aluminum ones for the store and for myself.
