AX-10 RTC is a good start, and can be upgraded later on.

i have the rtc i did alot of research before i bought. i didnt know i would enjoy it so much. that im upgrading it. if you plan on serious crawling fo with the axial artr it has the up graded links and steering and youll get to put a servo in it a decent metal gear one! ive had mine since october and have since ordered the links and am looking to getting a servo the stock steering flexes to much and the servo just doesnt havethe umph to turn the wheels. -chad |

Axial AX10 rtc gets my vote. Bought one recently and converted it over to the TCS boulder chassis. There is alot of after market support for the AX10....

I started with the Axial ax10 rtr. It was great out of the box and once i got a 55 turn motor and a new servo its even better. Thats what i would recommend. Good luck |

I bought the scorpion and ya its a great rig, tons of hopups, different chassis. So the scorpion is a good choise. But I sold mine and bought the Losi Night Crawler I have upgraded servo, motor, wheels and tires. It comes with a spectrum radio system, can use lipos without upgrading. Its my #1 choice.

Losi Night Crawler gets my vote!! Far better goodies than a AX10. In other words you won't have to turn around and spend a ton of money on upgrades.

I've built many RTR's for guys, but they cost more then Axial's stuff. How much money are you looking to spend on a RTR? You said Best.. |

I was trying to stay around $250. Right now I am stuck on two. The first is the RTC Axial AX10 Scorpion and the Redcat RS10. I know the Redcat seems like a weird choice but the Redcat right out of the box seems to have tons more articulation then the Axial it has dual motors and 4 wheel steer. Why is the AX10 so limited on its articulation right out of the box??

axial rtc is my vote, or you can go with the losi mini crawler. i have both and i honestly like my mini better. i dont have to find a big pile of rocks to crawl on like i did my axial. and it comes with everything needed to run it,only thing you need is AA batteries. if you had a star you could look at whats in the for sale section and save yourself some money.

| Too much articulation will get you in trouble. It will let the truck "fold up on itself" in tight spots. Some trucks have to have the articulation limited to make them crawl better.

| I agree but it seems the AX10 has very little articuation out of the box. If I wanted more is it an easy fix?

I have both AX-10 and the Losi Night Crawler. My personal choice would be the night crawler, out of the box. They are both competent but the Losi just flat crawls better and can handle Lipos from day one. I actually have three AX-10 from the RTC, ARC, and the kit. I would still choose the NC. AX-10 tires suck out of the box and it takes a little money to make the AX-10 as good as the NC. Not bashing the Scorp cause I like them too. Both are good choices but I give the nod to the NC. Or, look for a good used rig here that already has some mods to it and I am sure you can get it RTR and stay around your $250 goal. Craig, |
