Default Metal frame scaler

Im new to the scaler life and want to build one from ground up. Iv see and looked into it but cant find what im looking for. I know i can just go buy a frame but i want to build a FJ based scaler. What metal do you guys use for the frames so that you can braze on to them?

First let me tell you before someone else does. Use the search button! It will help a great deal. There's a ton of land cruiser tubers here and info about building your first tuber as well. If you read most of them say what gauge rod (sometimes brake line) is being used. Hre are a few I've referenced.

Right on thank you. Do you think it is worth it to just get a frame and build off that? Dose any one offer a metal one? I saw one but it was $200 and that's just crazy, ill build it for that money!
Thanks for your help!

X2 Crunky. Or if you want to buildit from the ground up get an SCX 10 chassis. They are metal and can braze or weld to them easily.
