looks like you broke your rear lockout. buy a new one. and by the rust on your straight axle shafts it doesnt look like your greasing them or anything

Start reading your Axial parts book. It has exploded "fish" type diagrams so you can see how things are assembled. Don't be afraid to tear into it....these are extremely simple mechanical machines. I run the hell out of my axial and have very minimal breakage. Sounds to me like one thing you can do to really help is to LOOSEN YOUR SLIPPER clutch and don't be afraid t o work on it.

I run an scx10 as well. The only major problem I ever have is driveshaft set screws coming loose...i alleviated this problem with red locktight.

One of the other best things you can do is use quality brand name allen wrenches....cheap allen wrenches will strip or round out the insides of all your bolts. Lots of light is your best friend...use a headlamp when working on it, and mostly be organized.

You do realize that the red loctite is permanent? You'll most likely have to drill the grub screws out if you ever have to take the yokes off...

LOL, I ran blue locktight and even that came loose....It's red...I'll add a touch of heat to it and it should come out....I did think twice before putting it on there.....I'll let you guys know how it goes when I need to remove that shaft

i think i took out red loc-tite, just getting a lighter, and letting the screw heat for about 10-15sec.. then it let loose kinda like blue lock tite.

Sand can cause quite a bind. It didn't score your gears up did it? You might want to look at the tips for sealing up your axles so that it doesn't happen again.
