| Wraith or Summit?
I need some help deciding which one to get. I keep going back and fourth on my decision. What I want out of the rig is one that can crawl decent and still have some speed to it. Which they both have. Everything else I am pretty open to. Price is not the issue. Just need some feedback, Pros/Cons, etc.

They can all be made waterproof. Here's a guy asking the same question, post 99. Traxxas Summit is a better crawler than the Axial Scorpion. |

I like scale & the wraith already has Team3six & rouge elements components making custom interiors. RPP has skins. The add-on potential for the Wraith is going to be huge. I'm waiting/hoping for a kit which I don't see Traxxas doing. pros/cons traxxas is waterproof but Wraith is less money so for the diff you can WP the wraith. add-on/hop up options on the wraith will be much better/Traxxas is indi suspension vs. straight axle on the wraith/Wraith is more scale looking Last edited by DRW-FJ40; 07-29-2011 at 11:14 AM. |

Thanks for all the replies, I am leaning more towards the Wraith....As far as waterproofing it, is it just the ESC that needs waterproofing? And is there an ESC that i can put in the Wraith that is already waterproof rather than doing it the plasti dip way?

If you feel like "Winning" you should go with a Wraith. If you feel like wrenching, you should go with a traxxas |

I would roll with the Wraith. eventhough I'm a huge traxxas fan. have slash and rally car which I love, but axial is the real deal crawler company. btw - I'm a crawling newbie and did the balloon water proof with awesome results, minimal effort. another thing to consider is the heat given off by many traxxas esc's and motors. my scx10 components don't even get warm. not sure if this was mentioned, but don't think there will be a summit class in crawling events, but u can bet on a wraith class. |

Wraith. You only need one battery and get more run time. The locking diffs on the Summit are cool, but they are buggy.

Waterproof is not a selling point. Electronics may be, but any rc is mechanically not waterproof out of the box. Toss a summit tranny in the wraith if you really want 2spd. Good brushed motors will have low speed crawlability and some top end to them. |

I am sold on the Wraith. Thanks guys....As for the 2 speed tranny from the Summit......that is possible? I would need a different Rx correct?
