I've seen a few guys running lipo receiver packs, are you guys soldering deans (or your choice) of plugs on them? What do you use if it has the little receiver connector?

The wording on your questions are a little ambiguous, can you provide a link or pic of what you mean? You can buy dedicated LiPo receiver packs, yes, and they'll have the smaller 18-22 ga wire and a JST/BEC connector for plugging into a receiver. But those are typically lower C packs, I wouldn't try and solder a Dean's on one of those and use it for your main pack. If going this route, you'd be carrying two packs, as you still need a main pack for powering the ESC and motor(s). To avoid the hassles of taking care of two packs, most people would just install a CC BEC, and run off the main pack only. I have run one of my heli LiPos as a receiver pack before, it does work, but I run a BEC now. Or by "lipo receiver packs" are you referring to the smaller main packs being widely used by many on here? Those are higher C packs, and then yes, you can either order them with your connector of choice, or change them out when you get them. To get you a better answer, we'd need to know a little better what your terminology is referring to. |

HoupS, As mentioned, is this to run a rig or to power your TX? If the TX, you can convert the TX battery plug to match the pack plug. If it's to run a rig, I wouldn't (as already mentioned) use a RX pack as power delivery will suck. Fill us in with some more info. Brian, it depends on the rig as well as comping or fun. Most 1.9 comp rigs are running 2S LiPO's ~325mah-800mah A lot of 2.2 comp rigs are running 3S LiPO's ~800mah-1400mah Scalers may run 2S or 3S at 1400mah+ Part of what you can use is based on your ESC. As to brands, if there are 20 brands there will be 20 answers. |

This is what I meant. They are so small I thought they were receiver packs and not main packs. This clears it all up for me

If you run a 325mah pack, you want a 45C+ pack. If you run a 2000mah pack, a 20C rating is fine. Pack power is a function of "C" & mah. The higher one value is, the lower the other value can be. Thus, a 325mah 65C pack vs. a 2000 20C pack. Both can provide similar power (OK, guys, I don't want the number crunchers hammering me, I'm just giving some examples........)

Gotcha, that makes complete sense. I ordered two 800mah, 2s 40c packs. Are you having any issues running soft packs, it makes me a little nervous seeing them on the axles.

| Re: Lipo batteries Here you go, LINK They are hobby king packs, the price is awesome. Since they have a warehouse in the U.S., shipping was like $5. Edit: Those will work right? All I need to do is change the connector. |
