| Hello, Intro, and a question.
Hi, My names Mike. I'm not new to RC and I already have a few different cars/trucks(Slash,T-Maxx, Bolink, etc.). I'm looking at the Scale truck/crawler world now and I realize it is exactly that. A whole new world. New terms and phrasology make for some confusing nights in front of the computer.I find that this site is a big help and I thank you all for that. My one question is about STRC products. I have a ton of their products on my rides and I am completely happy. I see they have products for the "AX10". Is this the same as the SCX10 or does this only include things like the Ridgecrest and the Scorpion? When I compare the parts to the pics of the SCX, I find a lot that are similar, but others I'm not too sure about. Maybe I'm just not too bright or maybe I'm too new to this segment of RC. Who knows? Any help would be appreciated and thanks for having me. |

Hi Mike from Sydney. Welcome to the forums. You will find out that many of the SCX10 parts are interchangeable with the AX10. Axles, C-hubs, knuckles, tranny etc. I can't say for the Ridgeline, but I think they are based on AX10 running gear. But that's just a guess. Which Sidney are you from? Australia, Nebraska or British Columbia (about the only 3 that I know) |

Wutup mike. Scalers are a blast! The strc stuff seems to be of decent quality, & affordable. The scx is basically an ax10, on a scale ladder frame. Different shocks(smaller), & smaller tires, being the main differnce. different mindset too. A well setup crawler can almost defy gravity. A scaler, on the other hand is more limited(like a real rig). You can get to the same spots, but unlike a crawler, which can just attack some burly stuff, you have to think more to get the same thing done. And that,rc friend, is the challenge, and the fun!
