| Choosing parts/brands
Ok, so I'm coming from nitro's and speed and switching to electric's and creepin. I'm in a different world it seems like. Do i need to worry about "cheap" parts in this arena? Integy was a cheap brand that we tried to stay away from, is it the same here? I've seen their parts and they seem decent for what I think I would need them to do. I guess this question is directed towards the more experienced guys in crawling. Do i need to "beware" of certain namebrands?

The same applies to crawling. It sounds like you've already had a taste of Integy products, so I won't go into that any further. I'm not into bashing a brand... Hot Racing is hit or miss. Do your research. (CHubs and stuff are OK) RC4WD has been stepping up their game lately, but do your research before you buy any parts with gears and what not (Axles, etc). They are innovative, but have had issues in the past. Can't really go wrong with Axial. (Except XR-10 axle bearings) Just do a bunch of reading before you invest in stuff, and you'll be fine. The search function is your friend! |

Please do exactly as you said above. Search and read, search and read. Chime in where you can. Ask questions after you search and read. If you do, you will have fun and learn more than you can handle. | |

Also you'd be hard to find a bad vendor here from the "Vendors Section". There are some great innovators and experts. IE - Holmes Hobbies, Crawler Innovations, UGC, Brood and MANY more! |

Some of the Hot Racing stuff is the best out there. For example Supershafty website says they make the AX10/SCX10 gearbox with the best tolerances and their bombproof tranny has those and HR steel gears in it.

I havent had any issues with Axial, but then again I'm not super hard on my stuff either. So kinda depends on how hard you are going to run it, but def do research on parts.
