Default UK New Guy Introduction

Hi all!

My names Garth, 27, UK.

I've been into RC for the past year, and my main genre is Drifting. I own a TT01d type E with a few bits done to her.

I also just purchased a Tamiya Bear hawk as a winter resto project as I wanted one of these when I was a kid.

I'm currently stuck at a cross roads, as I fancy something all terrain and something I can do through the winter. I really like the look of RC Rallying, as I do it as a main hobby 1/1 scale. The speed and with some drifts 'n' jumps chucked in for good measure really appeals to me. I've been looking at an XV01 Pro as I have the perfect rally body to go on, a Mk2 Ford Escort which I'm going to do in Roger Clark ''Li-Lo'' livery. Then there's the Crawling and Trail Riding. Something a bit more technical, also appeals to me. I've been looking at a Pajero CC01. I've done plenty of reading on here of what to do 1st and some of the projects I've seen are absolutely magnificent.

So basically, I can't afford to do the 2 at the moment, as I'm buying my 1st house, so a little house warming present wouldn't hurt anyone. I'll have a think over the next few days and decide by the weekend.

I look forward to chatting and getting some tips of you guys and sharing my experiences.

Here's a few pics of my growing collection....

S15, still not finished

AE86 Tureno, its red, camera just makes it pink

e30 M3

RX7, still not finished

And finally my Beak Hawk pre rebuild

Many thaks all

Garth

Garth, take a peek on scalerc.co.uk, lots of us over there, there are quite a few guys in your neck of the woods too.

There are usually a few decent bargain projects up for grabs too.

Nice drifters Garth. Can you tell who makes the S15 and RX7...are they Tamiya?

Dorifto, look into axial's scx10 honcho or the wraith. I think it'll be what you're looking for.

Keep an eye on ebay or Craigslist (if the uk has craig's or a suitable classifieds)... an Indian in the desert once told me "the deals will come."

True story I paid like $100 for my scx10 with all kinds of mods.

I ended up buying a CC01, and soon was thinking I should've gone Axial. Oh well nevermind, I'll get on with the CC01 and see how I like it.

Yeah both are Tamiya

Cheers
