Hey all. I jus had to replace my motor in my winch already well replaced the gears so after research I found on the side away from the motor doesn't have a bearing or anything to help spin it. Its jus a brass bushing that rides in there. I believe this brass piece is the culprit that made it hard for the spool to spin easy and chewed up some gears. Has anyone replaced that brass piece with a bearing if so was it a common bearing or? I guess I should mention its a bulldog winch.

I'm running a Bulldog on my 3rd channel and wasn't to happy with the performance. My truck is a pig though. I got rid of the stock controller and went with a HeyOk relay controller and WOW! It will easily lift my truck off the ground now. Now the weak point is the winch (gears and motor). I plan on picking up the new one from RC4WD that can take 3S when it comes out: RC4WD 1/10 Warn 9.5cti Winch I have a new Savox 1230 coming for my Crest and plan on using the slightly used 1230 as a servo winch. I don't think that bushing makes that big of a difference really. |

It jus seems like it sticks on that side. Maybe I'll get like some silicon lube spray and see if that helps. I didn't ruin the first set of gears pulling anything jus rewinding aime new winch line on. My rigs a pig too I'll eventually go to a three channel radio and a servo winch but jus wondering if anyone had a remedy for the bulldog one for now.

I put a drop of bearing oil on the brass bushing and it works great now.
