Default Battery Connectors

How do you determine which battery connector you have when you are ordering a RTR online. I want to order extra batteries but am not 100% sure of the the connector. Also is there a good thread that explains all of the different types.

Battery connectors are very easy to change. I actually can't remember ever getting a battery that I didn't change the connectors on.

+1, connectors are easy to change.

Lots of RTR's come with Tamiya connectors, 1st upgrade is to ditch them and go to something better.

Most run Deans, I run Sermos/Anderson PowerPoles (except for the MRC, that gets mini Deans).
Run what others near you run, makes it easy to share packs.

PS, since I order most of my batteries from www.CheapBatteryPacks.com , I can get them with just about ANY pack connector (or balance connector for LiPO) I want/need as part of the price.

If you don't know how to solder, learn. Changing battery connectors is pretty much mandatory if you stay in this hobby for any length of time. Not to mention most esc's worth buying come without a connector.
