| I can NOT decide on what to build
OK so after having running the MJ for my son and upgrading the heck out of it (The part I most Love), I am really looking forward to a Scale build. But here is the issue. I want a scale looking EB capable of crawling and when needed doing some good old hardcore trailing and some jumping. I'm not talking basher jumps but I want it to be serious power and ability. My 1st thought was to start with the SCX10 of some kind but then I don't know if it can handle what I'm after. I envision a early Bronco running some 40 series Boggers with plenty of power and suspension AND looks somewhat to scale. Thoughts? |

I think the bronco idea is cool. I really don't know about the frame though, I would think a scx10 frame but you said it won't fit your needs.

I don't know maybe it would. I've been going through all the SCX pics thread. There are several already that have some of the ideas and looks I'm after. I don't want to just crawl with it though. Around here it would be more like dirt/mud/water trail driving with the occasional jump and stuff. I'm not looking to unrealistically jump the thing but you know 2-3 feet high isn't out of the question. I know the way to go is to build 1 for each purpose but that's not happening either lol. I guess I need a rock racer but somewhat stay true to scale. So maybe the SCX with some good drive train mods and some boggers. Plus the right electros might be what I'm after all. |

Dynamic Concepts makes a Early Bronco body for the Axial Wraith. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/vendo...panel-set.html |

Wraith with SCX axles and a Dynamic Concepts EB body for the Wraith cage. Should be able to handle any kind of off road fun. I plan to build something along those lines.

It sounds like you are looking for more of a basher then a true scaled or comp crawler, I would look into a Wraith with a EB bronco body.

Going wraith is a great route to take. But looks wise, because of their width, your kinda rangled into a body, & the look of fenderless rigs. Cool as hell, but not really the 1st thing you'll see while flipping thru the book of scale. I like to have the option of both, the fenderless "beast"/buggy look, & a more conventional, narrower look. This is why i tend to stick to scx axles. You can runnem either way. I have rc4wd wideners on my scx axle equipped newbrite jk. Its exactly as wide as a wraith, but in 5mins, i can switch it back to scx width. Nice to have options... |

Wraith or Twin Hammers seem to be your best options. The Wraith is much larger. Or maybe a EXO buggy with Wraith axles. I believe they're called a WrEXO.

Ya. After a lot more looking I still think I'm going SCX. I want that scale look to some degree. Plus there are thousands of options and upgrades for it. I suppose I'd be happy with a mean bronco with some 2.2 boggers, waterproof and right gearing and motor. If I want to really launch off of stuff, I can always break out the SOAD |

Check out some of the wraith ultra 4 type builds, and google images of ultra 4 racers. The wraiths can look pretty scale with that build type, unless you are more after the bronco lifted street look then stay with the scx10 frame, just my 2c. Cheers, Wade |

SCX with a Proline Bronco body. (2.2 mudslinges would work perfect with this set-up) Mild lift, Mild Brushless, Lots of fun in the dirt, small jumps no problem. Turn carefully. With some shock tuning it wasn't bad. Just to give you some ideas. SCX can take it. |

Did you find the classified section? Sometimes it takes a couple days for a Mod to unlock it... So, central Il hu? Where abouts? We're having an event at Eclipse Hobbies in Feb. It's in Bradley, Il... near Kankakee. You should come out, a couple guys will be running Bronco Wraiths with SCX10 axles.... as well as every other rig you can think of! |

I'm just south of Peoria. Haven't looked on my laptop for the classifieds yet. I'm having to check that deal out! It'd give me some ideas and information I'm sure. |
