Default Batts won't charge?

When I plug my 2s 2250mah lipo into the charger, it screams at me w/ the screen saying low voltage- my other one works though. Could this be the effect of three days of below freezing weather and sitting in the car? I've never had this happen b4, so I have no idea what to do with it. Thanks in advance,

T

My TAZR LiPo charger
will not allow a charge unless the balance port is utilized
along with the power connection.

IMO... all LiPo's should be balance charged during every charging process.

Does your charger have balance charging input ports ?

You probably let the battery get too low and damaged it. I think is a trick to get it to charge again but I can't remember what it involves.

Try charging on a low amp non lipo battery setting to bring voltage up 3.2 volts/cell then go to lipo setting.

Let the lipo warm up to room temp then try it again. Lipos don't like cold weather.

I have rescued a few lipos by setting the charger to Ni-mh at 1 amp for about 5 mins. It has never failed me unless its a thunder power li-po...they dont like it.

Yes, nimh mode till just over 9v (for 3s) pack voltage then switch to balanced lipo mode. An occasional low discharge doesn't do any major damage to reputable packs nowadays.

They're also fairly resistant to cold, the old school gheyviators would store their packs in the freezer during the early days of lipo. Although these winter storms for some people make a household freezer seem warm...

I'm just suggesting that tbird2000 let the pack warm up before charging it. It's possible to overcharge a cold lipo. And yes, a short nimh charge for a few minutes to boost the voltage will work.

Agreed, brought to a nominal temperature for any activity. I was speaking specifically about storage.

Also I meant 9v for 3s of course...

While I don't really recommend it years back I have saved a Lipo by starting the charger with 2 packs in parallel, the bad one with good known charged one ( obviously of same flavor of 2s or 3s etc.) Charge for a minute or so unplug the good batt and charge on. Please always monitor what's goin on while charging this and the cells voltage to make sure it's all good. Honestly anymore, if they act up I toss em. Got too nice of shit around to care about a $30-$40 lipo

Good luck, be careful bud

Have charged on nimh setting for hrs at .1 amp and saved several lipos that way, they may not have the longest life ahead, but it's worth a lipo bag try!

I've brought 2s 's back to life by first charging as 1 cell till the voltage comes up a little. However not all chargers allow this.

I would bring it to your local hobby shop and ask for a lesson on bumping lipos with a nimh charge. If you do it wrong you will have a fireworks show.
