I would go for the falken or deadbolt, they got wildboar HD driveshafts who are way better than regular wildboars. It also got 32p gears who is a big pluss. Regarding the ae-2 and ae-5, I would take the ae5 over the ae-2 anyday, they are a lot more religable, runs cooler and easy to program on the fly with jumper, they also handles 3s better and at cooler temps. And BTW they are both rebranded. Personally I like the looks of the deadbolt best, and I think the tires on the deadbolt are more grippy, but not sure. Seems like Falken tires are more scale, but dont see that pattern to be as grippy, but maybee someone who have tryed them both knows this better.

Agree with you. Falken tires seem a little softer material, but not sure it is worth the extra cost. I have deadbolt and buddy has falken.

I have recently bought the axial deadbolt. I had to replace the standard esc after the first run. Between the course of five uses it has been put through absolute torture. I have a downhill mountain bike course at the house and I travel for construction so im able to drive it on the job sites. I'm wanting to strengthen the suspension and steering. It has slowed down a bit since I first bought it. Is this motor going to breakdown on me soon?

Hello,

Wondering if you still have your Deadbolt and thoughts thus far?

And what steps did you take to "waterproof" it?

I like both bodies as well. I say buy whichever body you like best. For me the must haves would be a 3s battery and a servo. But needing a servo you will most like change the esc unless you choose a BEC. So choosing an rtr based on electronics is pointless. I’ve used both but my latest build I just went with a hobby wing 1080. Super cheap and the internal bec is enough for me.

If I were considering between those two I’d buy a builders kit, a 1080, flysky radio, and a cheap 20k and a body. It’d be close in price and last much longer.
