| SCX10 RTR - Short or Long Wheelbase ? Which is best ?
Should I buy a Scx10 with a shorter wheelbase (like the Dingo Kit) or with a longer wheelbase (like the Power Wagon) ? Thanks in advance. |

short or long it comes to your taste in the look of the bodies it comes with.. shorter WheelBase will benefit in tigher turn, the longer ones in stability (I guess, CMIIW) but SCX10 does comes with the G6 version which puts it in the middle of the two.. your choice, have fun choosing then |

It is not too difficult to adjust the wheelbase either. The driveshafts have some adjustment in them so changing links can help

Yeah, I'm pretty sure changing Wheelbase is easy .. I'd go with a G6 or a honcho, but its up to you. Kinda biased because I have a Honcho, but hey..

If you do some searching on "short wheelbase" you'll find quite a few threads where pro's & con's are discussed. With that being said, I'll add that it also depends on what terrain you plan on wheeling your truck. If you'll be going up many inclines, a longer wheelbase is better, but if your terrain is more level, with rocks and tree roots, a short wheelbase is better, because of the increased breakover angle. I have both a 12.3" wb SCX10 and a 10.75" wb SCX10. With good weight distribution, I've made my 10.75" wb rig fairly capable at climbing uphill, as long as there aren't many rocks to navigate, but a winch will help with that. It excels on level ground, crawling over tree roots and creek rocks. My 12.3" rig will go up steep mountain trails, crawling over rocks at pretty good angles. I enjoy having the two sizes, personally.
