Getting excited. Parts should be in tomorrow to start my first upgrade rig. I bought a used scx10 already modified but my sons temper crawls like an animal after putting flat iron xl's on ist and junfac wheel wideners. It just doesnt have the wheel speed or power for certain things. Tomorrow I should be receiving the mamba micro esc, titan 380t 18t motor, hitec 645 servo and aluminum horn, and ecx aluminum chubs and knuckles. Also will be trying to find a spot to fit a 2000mah 2s lipo. Watched vids linked from here on Harley custom links so I will be making my own beefier suspension and steering links. I am going to buy a star so I can post pics once I figure out the whole photobucket thing, found a link on that here too. I haven't ordered an external BEC yet and I need to figure out a 4 link for it. Will also be looking at upgraded shocks and once I tear up driveshafts and axles, which Im sure will happen with my 7 year old at the wheel I will be doing those as needed. I have only found videos of Ecxs with wheel wideners, servo upgrades and 1.9's so hopefully this gets some interest as the stock crawler was quite capable after upgrading the rubber and adding some wheel weights. I actually have fun with it when I let him run my scx.

I'm also going to let my son paint the body so that should make for some good pics and laughs.

The rig is now called the Beast. IT climbs things my scx10 would dream of.

With the new motor, esc, receiver, wheel wideners, 1.9 tsl xl's with 4 oz on the front and 2 oz in the back, ecx upgraded shocks c hubs, knuckles, traxxis waterproof receiver box this thing fits the name of the beast

out climbs my scx10 which is running 2.2's and every axial upgrade

next is a custom skid plate from a cutting board like I read from a different thred. turn it into a four link

still working on the new skid plate to convert to four link. Hopefully have that done in the next couple nights. With the extra power the tt is bad. When Tanner punches it the rig will do half barrel rolls and end up on its top.

What mods were needed to make the Titan 380 fit? You wont regret the 4-link setup - mine does great with it and 1.9 Axial Ripsaws (and added weight). I do need a little more power though...

I went to the website, and they don't say what size the tires are, can you help me out here?

I was going to make a custom skid plate and battery tray to widen the chassis and a custom motor plate but I ended up putting in a 370 dromadin?? and the increase in speed was substantial. Don't think I'll put the 380 in now. Might for fun at some point but the with its current setup it goes faster than my 7 year old runs and still has great low speed sensitivity. To go to the 380 I'd have to either go to a 20t pinion or a bigger spur and I haven't found any bigger spurs It would go way too quick with a 20t pinion so if I go 380 I might pick up a 55t motor.

stock is a 1.7 I believe, very light and slippery, biggest upgrade was the rims and tires with the wheel wideners to give it a wider base. With that alone it could out crawl my scx10 when it had the power and didn't need any wheel speed.

Thanks on the tire size, & ya know, if you want to slow it down, maybe try throwing on a set of 2.2's, however, a 55t motor will be less expensive than a set 2.2's

the temper is very similar if not the same as my hsp kulak and i agree with you, once you upgrade the rubber and add some wheel widners, as well as lowering the COG these things are quite good. i have four linked both the front and rear of mine and it makes it so much better no torque twist and articulates very nicely.

Mine out crawls my mates ax10 and it surprises me with where it can go.

Nice job on it so far!

Subscribed. My kiddo is getting one for Christmas and I coughed up 80 bucks already for 1.9 and tires.

Until my axial wheel weights come in, i used 2 AA batteries and mounted one on each skid plate for 46grams on the axle. It actually works well (i may spray paint them black) and does not hinder performance.

I also shaved off 100 grams up high by switching to a 2s 1000mah lipo as well. This helped greatly with tip overs.
