It looks like it would be a fun truck to drive. Was thinking to get one for myself to find out.

Decided to order the parts to make it 4wd.Found most parts on back order. The cost of all the parts to make it 4wd is close to the cost of buying another truck. So needless to say I am ordering another truck. This will give me many back up parts. So if anyone needing parts or electronics drop me a PM.

No it doesnt cost that much if your smart and shop around. Get your bearings from walawala, Then you need the axle shafts, the ring and pinion, internal diff gears, diff cup. Driveshaft you can use a pede universal. My guesstimate would be $50 for a conversion or less

ok, I just saw this thing on Tower, and it didn't say whether or not its 4wd. I saw a front axle, but since it didn't say 1 way or the other.... I was confused. Now I see that its 4WD capable, but not 4WD right out of the box. What exactly would 1 need to convert this little truck to 4WD? Its between this and a PTI Goliath for me right now. Thanx, Wes

My question is, how fast are these things? Particually, how do they compare in speed to something like a traxxas rustler or stampede? Im thinking about getting one when the 4x4 version is released.

Stock it tops out at just shy of 10mph.

It does around 15-18mph on the stock battery. I'm waiting for the JB weld to cure on the rear end of mine and i'll post up some vids tomorrow.

EDIT: here is a vid I did to proove it does more than 13mph. I got the death wobble at 13mph and my girlfriend didn't let me get in a second run......... It had more left when it flew off.

You get big time humor points for useing a treadmill for a speed run! That's a riot!

I'm going to trust RC Driver radaring it for less than 10mph over the tread mill being accurate... sorry.

What your test is missing is wind resistance and the actual weight of the vehicle that affects real world top speed.

Basically what you got there is similar to an unloaded wheelspeed test.

Tread mill? What are you talking about? That's a fine tuned RC dyno minus the power calculations

What I need to do is rig up a "treadmill" that has some bumps on it to help with suspension setup!

I agree it's not quit as real as a radared RC but 5mph+ difference? Don't you find that hard to believe? You seen on the video where my girlfriend said it was at 10mph so I blurped the throttle and it had A LOT left in it. At 13mph it had quit a bit left. Your only difference from the treadmill is the wind it has to push out of the way. I don't think that would reduce the speed by %30 or more.

I personally think this thing is faster than 10mph. Wind or no wind.

No there is a lot more that the treadmill doesn't recreate.
Rolling resistance is different, it doesn't have to push the weight of the vehicle, friction is near nill as the ground is moving at it versus the vehicle moving forward. It's a completely different thing.

It feels faster in real life because it handles like a top heavy truck!

its still pushing forward, it would actually have to work harder to move forward, but it would have no momentum, so for example, you turn the wheels, the suspension wouldnt react because there would be no weight transfer. This is assuming the treadmill is moving, and the truck is going full speed and not moving forward or backward.

As far as rolling resistance, its still there, however the surface is different, its a mat of some sort instead of dirt or pavement that the magazine used.
