got a servo but it's not meant for shifting, made it work though, would like to know a good shifting servo for next time.

I'm pretty new here too but I think any servo will operate on the same principals. So I dont think you could go wrong with any, as long as it fits.

Was the new servo the same size as the one that you replaced it with?

i just bought a servo that had good reviews of not burning up, i put a 2 speed transmission in my scx10ii, so there was no existing shifting servo.

the servo isn't as important as setting endpoints so you don't burn up said servo.

can i change the end points? i think it's like 270 degree turn or something now, but when it shifts it doesn't hum when it's in place, so i don't believe i'm over working it.

End point settings are made from your Transmitter.

Google is your friend - search online for end point settings for your RTR model - some do have a setting option, albeit not as friendly as after market models like to DX5.
