I think we're gonna have to have a sticky on just how to check and set the EPA's on the shift servo. I've run 2 full packs through mine and have shifted a lot during the running of it and have had no issues.

So I think they need to recall all the servos and give them better ones and that's a big reason why I don't want to buy one

Seriously this car rips. I put 2.2 rock claws on mine and have been ripping around all day. I've put 4 batteries through it and another one charging now. With stock gearing and 5" tires this thing seem as fast as my vxl slash 4x4. Nothing gets hot and seems pretty rugged. A new shift servo for under $30 and its golden. Or spend 2 hours toying with the stock servo tuning it like I did with mine. Mine is all stock electronics on 2.2's. My Slash didnt have all these features and was priced about the same. The only difference is that I sold my slash 4x4s (both) a month after I bought them and I will keep this one.

Yea but the slash and this rig are 2 totally different kind. And I bet with you slash just like mine you charged the battery and went not like this where you charge the battery and go and then have to mess with that servo or buy another so far that's the biggest draw back from this

It sounds like they need to warranty all these burned up servos.
Is the shift servo standard size or is it a mini?

actually the slash lasted about 30 minutes before the centre drive shaft bearing blew, then I had to wait 2 weeks for replacement that wasn't covered under warranty. 2 weeks after that I had it on eBay

It sounds like they should have added some literiture in the box advising buyers to check EPAs, how to do so, and why. They probably should have put some sort of servo saver on them too, given how many seem to not be adjusted properly from the factory and are blowing servos. Especially with the number of these that will probably be sold to beginers.

Great...Does anyone know the size of the servo?
Is there a way to get a standard sized servo to work?

Hitec HS-225MG is the best replacement shifter servo. BUT you will need to find a horn that would allow you to use the stock linkage or do what I did and make my own linkage. I also used a metal horn. Pictures are posted on the link below.
