I am still running mine box stock with a 7 cell 4600 pack. It is waaaay fun to drive. I dropped in a 3s lipo in it and it really came alive!

I've run about 8 battery packs through mine in the last few days... I've also had my radar gun out each of those times.

Here the 'data' I've collected:
Stock everything, 7 cells - 24mph
Stock gearing, 15x4 540 motor, 7 cells - 30mph
Stock gearing, 17x1 540 motor, 7 cells - 28mph
Stock gearing, 17x1 540 motor, 6 cells - 24mph

The motor was a bit overheated with the 15 turn motor run (220F). And then just a little too warm with the 7 cell/17 turn run (210F). And stayed pretty cool with the 6 cell/17 turn run (165F) and the completly stock run (145F).

I'm leaning towards going back to the 15 turn, but drop 2-3 teeth on the pinion.
Each of the 540 motors performed much better than the stock 12t Titan. It seemed to have a lot more power when off road and more top end when on road.

My rear bumper skid mount has come off a couple times as well. Only on one side, the other side I'd bolted down.
And I first lost the passengers side Velcro and then the drivers side the next day. I replaced them with some Velcro of my own, and it holds a lot better.

Use denatured alcohol and new velcro no problem.

Default Slash with a mm 7700?

I have a slash waiting for me when I get back on dry land. I have a mm7700 in my tc4 I was wondering what gearing you think I should try or if you think the 7700 would even work in the slash.
Thanks,
Jackson

need more info.......... ie. battery, tires, general use (speed runs or bashing).

if you are useing a quality 6cell nimh than I would use from a 14-18 pinion with the 86 or 90 spur. ajust to your liking.

the slash is a "RTR" Ready to Run, not a kit. Everything but the batteries is included.

I have the VXL in mine, really wakes it up bigtime. I thought it was a slug stock. See here http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=J6meo6nQEzk

Honestly, just by dropping an 11.1v 3S li-po in it, it woke up and was floating over the rough stuff and pulling wheelies on asphalt!!

Careful, that 12t titan doesn't like 8 cells so I am sure the 11.1 volts will kill it quickly

I was more worried about the fact the stock ESC doesn't have Li-Po cut off. If the motor goes, oh well!!

Default c0astie' slash

well i picked up a new slash on saturday, and it is set up very nice.
today i picked up a traxxas brushless set up, and now i am just waiting for my 8 cell custom pack from cheapbatterypacks.com. i put some axial beadlocks on it with the stock tires, i moved the body mounts forward to make the wheelbase more scale. here are some pics.
