Yeah, kinda a Gasser nut myself! Thanks! No replacement for displacement is how the phrase goes!

Finally got a coat of primer on it. Now its back to body work and a ton of other tasks.

Wicked cool! Its amazing how some of you guys can manipulate styrene the way you do. What did you use for the plug wires? Im trying to figure something out for my build, but ive been scratching my head a bit.

Thanks for the kind words, I feel these builds are more an addiction that hobby!
I am trying to add a little gray paint to the "boot" area of the wires at the distributor cap, just to add a little more detail. The wire is just #22ga. stranded red jacket, just stiff enough to hold a shape.

It's been a while, I have a kitchen remod that's been stealing time from the Gasser build. Have managed to get to a few items tackled though. Gasser's need ladder bars, so I attempted to build a set. Also started on the "tin" work, trunk & interior, not the best a tin work, it will have to pass. Darkened the wheel centers as well. Added a fuel cell for the electronics and mounted the servo. Also covered the trans in a tin blanket so from the side the motor / trans combo isn't as visible.

Today was paint booth day. I went with Tamiya TS52 candy neon green. It's not a true candy but I backed it with pearl white just in case. I want to add a few graphics tomorrow so right now its curing.

Wow your fab skills are amazing, I can build and fab full size cars. But scaling it down never works. I can't wait to see this finished.

Thanks Mike. Really wasn't sure where to begin this post. Since it wasn't a true 1.5, 1.9 or 2.2 wheel build so placed it here. Thanks for following though!

I really wan't to give it some period correct graphics, so I added a couple scallops last night. I used Spazstix candy gold, which on the cap looked like, well gold! But i really should have backed it with their chrome base coat. I sprayed out a test sample over the candy green but still went for it. It's weird, kinda orange / gold over the green, but now is growing on me. I strongly recommend Tamiya's masking tape, creates a very accurate line.

Got to a few of the rear end details to night. Installed the magnets for the trunk hold down, the MSD "push off" battery switch, the rear taillights, and all Gasser's must have a parachute! Noe I need to fab up a rear bumper.

chute parts, i wound up having to cut another cover, this one was a bit to shredded.

Love all the details you are doing, the battery kill switch is awesome. When you get to inside details exclusive RC has a pretty cool 3D printed monster tach with shift light. Although by the skills you've executed so far I'm sure you could easily whip that up yourself

We think alike, I am trying to find a vendor for a couple ideas I have for a specific decal. Looking to do something in gold metal flake actually.

Thanks CODYBOY, if I remember correctly your jeep build was painted this or something very close. And that build is killer!

So I am almost done with the rear end details. Just completed and wrapped the bumper in chrome film and mounted it.
Roughly shaped the bumper.

Then added some contours.

Killer build

Not sure what you're planning for it, but it most seriously needs either green tinted windows all around or yellow

So, I think anyone who's into Gasser's know's you have to have a Moon tank mounted up front. Well wasn't sure about how to build a scale version. So I was walking around Michael's and found a scale wooden barrel that is in the doll house section. I know, your all laughing.....anyway moved up front to tackle the headlights and grill. And the Moon tank. Found a perf metal vent panel and sanded off the powder coat, buffed the steel an am using that for the grill.

My moon tank!

Was wood....

Installed!
