So where does one discuss the Losi Rock Rey? I couldn't find anything under brand specific scalers. Losi: 1/10 4wd Rock Rey RTR AVC Blue: Losi (LOS03009T2) Last edited by THX_138; 03-20-2017 at 09:31 AM. |

Well I just beat mine for a 4300 3s pack and I must say it's pretty stout. I had to give it a quick run before tearing it down. 3s is very fast but this thing doesn't handle half bad for being right out of the box. I have ordered new upper rear links, a bunch of Losi upgrades and a metal concept center section. I'm going to add some 1mil diff fluid in the center and front diffs and see how it goes from there, a much faster steering servo (not sure what yet) and maybe switch over to Holmes ESC and a 3500XL. I figured I'd put this here while it's still a Rock Rey thread.

Maybe I was desensitized after staring at a Losi 5ive and an X-Maxx for a while but the Rock Rey didn't seem that large to me when I saw it, more or less like a tad bigger than a Slash 4x4. I also figure it'd be pretty tame with conservative gearing and running 2S, only getting around 20-30 mph. To be fair, they're only about $70 more than a Twin Hammers, given the size upgrade it doesn't seem like a bad price to me.

| Losi Rock Rey And it has begun. It comes apart rather easily even though it's a ton of screws. Got the diffs filled and sent all the links over the JEC for custom ones. Still waiting on some aluminum Losi parts then it will be rebuild time. I swapped the EC3 for a deans and with a little trimming it fit right into the stock spot. I added a BEC and will be using a Protek 170SBL servo. I'll run the stock ESC and motor until it cooks. I also don't like the shocks. I'm thinking Prolines as the XT are the perfect length for the rears. The slash rears will work for the front but are a little short so I might just use a longer rod end to add some length.
