Saw the thread abut the TXT tranny. Never heard of anyone stripping a gear out of one of those. Wonder if the mesh was not correct for the pinion and the spur gear? Looking forward to running the creek again on the 16th. |

well doug is somewhere west of indy this weekend and he took his truck. I just got off 2way with him earlier and he said there was some nice areas over where he is, but i'm guessing it is some park he is camping at :? he said the trails have been marked off and such.. not sure of the details, so he will have to chime in when he gets back.. just another option hopefully he goes back down there and takes some pics |

Yea, we need to find a few more places to crawl. I've checked out a few parks around here and havent found anything. I'm betting there are some KILLER places in Hocking Hills Ohio. I've never been there, but I've searched a lot on the internet and it seems like it's perfect. Lots of rocks and stuff. Search google for hocking hills or start here http://www.hockinghills.com/parks/parks.htm |

I would be interested in hearing where Doug was. Searched the park near my house Saturday morning and couldn't find any area worth crawling. Tryng to find some topographical maps on the net for the area around Madison IN. Did some four wheeling down there a few years ago and seem to recall come areas near the park. Will continue to search. |

Ok guys.. I did go to a place called Clifty Falls. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get the camera back out for a second trip down into the bottom of the creek/falls.. whatever ya wanna call it. I was with about 5 kids and my wife.. we were walking a trail that that takes ya through a tunnel thats about 200-300 meters... pitch back... was great. Anyway.. on the way back... one of the youngens wondered down a d trail.. which happened to be pretty good ways down and we ended up at the creek. This was amazing... couple little waterfalls... rocks allll over... small stream crossings. Imagine Adams place... but... BIGGER. There was a hotel there. We camped.. (did I mention it rained...a lot) and the camp ground was only a half mile from the trail head. Its a pretty good climb up and down to the creek. Like down and stay down for a couple hrs.. up for food.. and thinking twice about going back down. (Little bit longer hike then at Adam's, little steeper also.) Its only and 1.5 hrs from Fairfield... so it could be a good day trip.. its in a state park, not sure if they mind or would even know. I'll try and find some pics online. Sorry I wasn't able to get any.. but I promise this place was great... Even the wife said I would have a blast with the little toy down there..HAHAH toy.. whatever woman. |

I was searching for information on Clifty Falls State Park after out last get together and found this comment on their web site. . Stay on the marked trails—because of the rugged terrain, off-trail hiking is both dangerous and illegal. Areas immediately above and below any waterfall are off-limits due to rockslides and rockfalls. I imagine there will still some areas that we could run the trucks. This is only an 1 1/2 from Indy also. |

Doug, you should call a park ranger and ask him if were allowed to be on the area that you crawled on. It sounds good, but I don't want to do anything illegal.

What about The Badlands in Attica Indiana? We could make it a day of 1:1 and RC 4wheeling. I've never been there, but I bet there is some good RC stuff. Who has been there? I thought old dog said he's been there, and Doug.

I was looking at the Indiana state parts website at different parks. There seems to be a lot of cool parks in Indiana. This one looked really cool. Anyone ever been there? http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/prope...nnonwoods.html 2 hrs from Cincy and Indy |

3.5hrs from Cincy, 4.25 hrs from Columbus, 1.5hrs from Indy. Not too bad I don't think, if it's as good as the pics show. Someone from Indy should go check it out and take a bunch of pics.

I have been to Turkey run before and am nit sure it is worth a 3 or 4 hour driver for all of the Ohio boys. Clifty Falls might be a better and closer location for everyone except Cory. It would ba about three hours for him. After I get back from my trips for work I plan on making a visit to Clifty Falls and maybe some other parks in Eastern and Southern IN to see if there is any place good to rock crawl. Regarding the Badlands, it is a good place to go 1:1 wheeling as well as motorcycles or quads but there would not be any place for RC crawling. |
