cj5 are good, but too short. i think the cj7 is the almost perfect wheelbase, especially if were talking in rc terms. It would fit chassis better i think, although the cj8 looked good. but cj8s are too truck like and long.

I wonder how many guys on here are already planning to chop the XJ behind the front doors and make a Comanche truggy! Honcho project, maybe??

Makes sense with a ladder frame IMHO since the Cherokees are unibodies and the Comanches are not. And yeah, I'll be snatching up a couple bodies to hold onto for future builds as well. Can't wait to see these get released!

Well the 15th is pretty much over So by my count that's 4 potential release dates past now.

Maybe the 30th then....

Or May 15th.....or 30th.....

Looks like only someone in with Proline will be rockin an XJ at MSD Scale Nationals this year, no "civilians"

How ironic in the vid on Proline's site he says they'll be released MARCH 1st

Actually Comanches are Unibody too, but have a unitized frame section extending past the cab where the bed and rear suspension attach.

Aw man, I always thought they were ladder-framed all the way through. I always wanted one but could never fit my 6'5" frame in its tiny cab.

Definatley not perfect scale like they say on their site.
Anybody even notice how messed the dimensions are behind the rear wheels?
They raised/extended the rocker panels which offset the rear tail lights and top of the rear bumper up higher. Which makes the rear end sucked up higher which at least in my eyes looks horrible and very noticeable. I didn't even have to compare pictures to know something was wrong.

Heres my 87 (which has the same body style as the 92, I just had this picture on hand)
Though, I'll probobly deal with it and end up getting one anyway. I mean at least they tried to provide this long awaited body for us so I shouldn't complain too much. If I do decide to build one I'm gonna do a replica of my 1:1 most likely

XJ body = 11.8 wheelbase, 1:1 = 101.4" WB... so it's about a 1:8.6 scale.. very close to 1:9.

I wonder if it would fit on a touring car chassis like a TA05 ...sounds a little too narrow at 185mm width

I think the problem is the bottom of the doors. The front bumper is also raised up. If you were to trim the middle I think it would look spot on. I can't wait to get my hands on one.

I noticed that the roof rack matches a 96' and up not a 92' which had full length racks. Not to be pickey but...
