No the bed liner will not flex enuf when the body twists the bed liner will crack and fall off. you might be able to use a rubber under coat it flex's a lot better and has about the same look. I would try it on a scrap piece first.

use rubber seal that they advertise on tv, the one with the boat with the door in it. its flexible, and rough textured. you could goto orielly and get the bed liner roller, and use the brush to make it more textured

€yes it will work, and stick fine if you scuff up the body some. but its going to more than triple the weight of the body if you do the whole thing.

Do not get that spray on bedliner in an aersol can at Walmart. Forget the name but it's a white can and has picture of red dualie's bed open on it. That just sprays out like spray paint!

I was trying to build a micro crawler course with foam and using that as an overlay...didn't work at all! I ended up using it as spray paint. The can even said "textured" on it. Right on Walmart go F yourself. I tried going over to a truck shop that specializes in spray on bedliners but they do not sell to the public.

I think my other alternative is to try to canned version you have to crack open like a paint can.....tell me how it works out I need to do a drop bed coming up. Thanks!

Oh btw to the OP. If you're going to use spray on bedliner on Lexan you better scuff up that body REALLY REALLY GOOD. Otherwise it will just flake off after a few dents or bends. If that's what you're going for that would be sweet. Just shoot the inside of the body a blend of red/brown/dark gray to emulate rust once the bedliner spray chips over time. Learn from me wetsanding if done right can make a Lexan body look like a hard body...especially once your scale it out.

I used the bedliner from auto zone in the red and white can , I think it's rostoleum. I used it on my blazer just the cap and the rocker panels. I scuffed and sprayed it just like you would paint light even coats, no hurry. You can spray very thin coats and a very fine texture. I used a heat gun to bake it on and it's been at least a month or so and only some hard hits from rocks can barely chip it. It doesn't add weight at all hardly. And it looks cool! Look up my pics and check it out. Or I'll post some up later when I get home.

you can also use Krylon's Shortcut Flat black hobby craft paint.

I've used on the outside of a laxan body for the motor hood, side fenders, and truck bed. It flexes well and if ever you get a scratch you can always do a couple of passes with the can for a "good as new" look.

On the outside of motor hood

On the outside of motor hood(lexan) and outside of all body panels(styrene).
Its held up pretty well on both.

On the outside of rear bed door.

On the outside of the bed canopy.

I painted the interior of my wraith with dupli-color bed armor. It ain't cheap. It sprays out like rubber. It takes several coats but looks good and is decently abrasion resistant. I scratched it with my finger nail. And just barely even could see it.

Did you have to scuff the bodies or did you just wash-n-paint?
