THANKS!, that link alone will help me tremendously, cause' no I can see the shape of the hood and the interior of the lights with out lenses. Yes, I would be interested, but first I have to scrape up the money, but I might be-able to justify it and make a few bodies and sell to counter act the loss. Would it be possible to do things like the bumpers and lights and grill and mirrors separately? Or will it jack my price higher? Thats what drives me nuts about lexan bodies, when the grill flows right into the body. Did you make that? Or did you find that? I'm really interested. Maybe when I get the next payment for a puppy(My family breeds and sells golden retrievers.) I can buy one. I'll be the first with a true ram on the trails. Also, Would I be-able to get it in 1/12? It doesn't really matter I'm just curious. Now I won't be-able to concentrate at school, I'll be planning this. Last edited by dman10; 03-01-2013 at 05:32 AM. |

By the nature of 3d, everything is possible, any piece can be printed seperatly, any scale is possible (depending on the size of the 3d printer you work with, you might need to print the mold in sections). I can do the 3d prep work for you but you will have to inquire about the 3d printing and find someone that can blow the lexan after. I agree that if you go this route, its wise to do a batch to offset your initial cost. |

I'm a retarded 15yo. Inquire about the 3D printing? Would it be possible to put the bed on that 1500 on the dually? My first aim is a 2500, like the one above. And I think 1/10 scale would be best cause' you can make em' look more scale. I'm also thinkin' it would be smart and make sure people would buy em' before I do this. Also, anybody know somebody who would lexan form the bodies for a good price? I really wanna do this. But it looks like I will need to find some money first... Any investors? |

I can help but you'll have to quit saying your retarded. ;) check this site: Shapeways - Make & Share Your Products with 3D Printing example of 1:10th RC accesorries 3d printed and an idea for pricing. http://www.shapeways.com/model/75292...ductBox-search you could probably estimate ~100$ to print a 3d model in resin. (to use as is.) I suggest this material in gloss white: http://www.shapeways.com/materials/strong-flexible estimate much more to print a mold if you want to blow lexan since you will have to use a substance better suited for molding, something like ceramic. if you go with the option #1, you can still make a cast of your body using plaster so you can cast more of them. many ways to go about getting there, depend on if you want to do a batch of if you prefer exclusivity of a standalone print. hope this helps, remember, google is awesome! Ok, I'm not the smartest in areas. This is going to be a little more expensive that I thought... I would like to make a few, but not not enough to justify spend that much. I'm thinking maybe do like he did, Here:ZEEK 1941 1/2 ton Dodge - Scale 4x4 R/C Forums But instead of doing that mold like thing he did, maybe get someone to vacuum form some bodies. I need to go contact dodge now. See if I can get some drawings. |

I'm really leaning toward seeing if a vacuum form would work, surely it would be cheaper.

Ok, I'm putting this in motion. I'm emailing some vacuum forming companies tonight, goin' to check on prices. Still not sure on mold, wanna make my own, but wanna make them sellable. I need some info: Would you be interested? What scale? 1/10 or 1/12 What would be your max price? And anything I forgot. Let me know, need to make sure people will buy before I go any farther. |

I would like a true 1/10 scale. SO many bodies claim 1/10 but really are smaller. I'd buy a couple. $50 for a decent body is not unheard of.

I have a side view layed out in 1/10 or at least really close. And yes, $50-$60 is kinda' what I was thinking. I emailed, and am hoping for a response today. |

A lot of people get worried about licensing. Are you? Or will you just do it? :-) Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2 |

Sell it a a "Rodge Dam Truck" body, never mention what it is supposed to be, its sold unpainted without any branding onto it. Can't be worst than the chineese auto industry. my 0.02$ |

No branding on it, just sell it as a "Ram" I think I'll be fine, plus I'm just selling on here and scale.

I thought about goat but didn't seem right. A castrated sheep is a whether. And an intact ram is also referred to as a tup. So you could go with one of those. Sorry grew up on a farm. :-) Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk 2 |

I'd def be careful with branding rights. Even with a different name its still infringement using there design. Even though your just selling on "scale and here" there was a vendor on scale and another even smaller forum who was shut down for making and selling just a grill for trucks that had a company designed logo on it. Was even named differently but was their logo design..... So I'd watch out ESP because its an American vehicle company and they are the friggin worst of all with that stuff. --Dan |

I'll keep that in mind. I wasn't planning on any markings or badges. I'm still waiting for a response from some companies. I think I need a new mouse, I'm watching my shake its way around the screen....
