Good luck. I have been looking for a while. Few cheap toy rcs out there with dodge bodies, but the wheel base and scale is wrong. I have offered to pay some of these styrene guys before but nobody wants to do it. I would love to have a 1:10 model of my 1:1 truck, but my skills are lacking. :-) Last edited by Tin Soldier; 02-27-2013 at 05:30 AM. |

I've been lookin' at the 1/10 New Bright Dodge Ram, nobody over on Scale4x4 knows anything about it, so I figured I might try here. In the second picture in the link you see it next to the remote, I don't know how big the remotes are anymore, but it looks to be 1/10-1/12 scale. So if you know anything about it, lets spill. If so that may be how I afford one of these bodies. |

That look kinda small for a 1:10, looks like it share the same guts as the NB TJ which the body is the same lenght for a 2 doors. I might be wrong but that body shell looks more like 1:12 to me.

The 1/10 New Bright body is small, same size as a Wheely King body.

I'm not familiar with the wheelyking, so I can't make a relation in size. I might just end up at walmart and try to find it and measure it's specs.

Look it up: 1:10 Scale RC Products the TJ 2 door jeep is considered 1:10 the JK 4 doors jeep is considered 1:8 *the TJ and JK are the same scale really, the JK is just longer. Go figure how they came up with that. there is a RAM under the 1:6 section that might look very scale if done properly. Good luck |

I'm working on a Parma Ram right now. I'm making a replica of my old truck ( 01 Ram 2500 extended cab long box diesel) I have the cab done, I'm waiting on the other body to cut the bed off of, should be here by the weekend. If I could post pictures I would

Thanks, I heard over on Scale4x4 that 1/8 is really 1/10 and 1/10 is really a smaller scale. I will check into the 1/6 though.

Hi dman - the new bright bodies are small - the other half picked up one of the Ford Raptor extended cabs - using it on his Redcat crawler - it isnt much bigger than the stock body for that - no bigger than 1/12 scale, maybe a little bit smaller even (1/14th?). They are amazingly detailed, but way too small for what you want to use it for. just ran up & grabbed a quick measurement - about 9-3/4 inch wheelbase... |

Thanks, Heartless, first person to give me the WB for a New Bright. I would jump in and build one, but I'm scared of the amount of curves and spending money I DON'T have just to screw it up. What to do...

Modifying/Building a hard body can become very costly in products and tools if you are not already equiped. I'm in for a few hundreds alrady on my first hard body project. (Dremel kit, glues, epoxy paste, sanding products, hard body itself, styrene, files. and lots of time.)

Yeah, but I have sanding products, glues, won't need a hard body(Cause' I think the f-350 and Ram are just too far apart in looks.) dremel kit(Other cutting devices.) files, and a good amount of time in the summer, and thats comin' up in like 8 weeks. I might try it, but with somethin' cheaper than syrene. Here is really what I want: Last edited by dman10; 02-28-2013 at 02:18 PM. |

Dman, I'm going to be doing a similar project soon with the newbright 1/6 scale dodge ram body (well...1/8 scale) obviously it will be a much larger build...but it it will be the similar body style. I have more of these bodies in stock. Pm me on scale or here and I'll keep you in mind if I decide to sell them. Again, for now, they are not for sale...but after my build...I might entertain it. G

I got a smaller Dodge body from ebay. It's about an inch too short for the wheel base. I will try to get measurements. I plan to cut the bed off and make it into a class 3/g6 truggy. Still I want a c1 2012 Dodge for towing trailers. :-)

I'm really planning on building a 2012 2500. and maybe a 3500 dually if all goes well. just need to find some cheap material to use. I heard these sign makers will sell you the styrene like material really cheap, but I don't have any near me. |

sometime I think it would be easier to group in for the initial hit and do a 3d model printed with multiples high details parts for casts to make styrene body out of and plastic details. model: dodge ram 3500 hd obj 119$ I am a 3d artist so I could make sure its 1:10. isolate the body and process for 3d printing. (price, more than the model, few hundreds...) then we can get lexan body produced. simple. I just like the hard way since I do 3d all day everyday and it would be too easy for me, but I can help you get it done if you want to do it. |
