#1 got to your local automotive store and pick up some dot 3 or dot 4 brake fluid
#2 put some napkins on the inside of the body then put a generous amount of the brake fluid and let it soak for a few hours.
#3 you may have to do this process more then once to get all the cracks and crevices
#4 tadayy you have a clear body

I heard some where that you can take it to car wash ,,the one with a HI pressure hand wand ,Hit with the soap setting and the paint flys off ,,The hard part is getting your buddy to hold it while washing paint off,,,

It's much tougher to strip down because its printed instead of painted. It can be done, just takes 3 times the supply and time.

OP, it would be more efficient to just buy a new G6 body.

What does acetone do? Would it make the lexan cloudy?

I would be interested to know the answer to this too... Did you try the brake fluid yet? Or acetone?

I just bought a scx10 rubicon and would like to paint it tan

i heard the same things about this process before, and i gave it a try with the brake fluid on my sons mighty bull that was in sore need of some updating, but it just did not want to work. it certainly thinned the paint down considerably, but i went over it a number of times and it never really got to any point that i would be able to paint it again. ended up buying a new shell to paint.

Here's what I did to remove the green stripe on my factory wraith body. I didn't like the color scheme and since my rigs are all black and raspberry color, I masked the area I didn't want paint to be removed from. I used a q-tip and a small jar filled with lacquer thinner and applied not heavy to where its dripping but a damp amount to stay wet on the swab. I rubbed back and forth on the areas I wanted to remove the paint from and after a few passes the white backing started to lift revealing the color your removing. "Will require some elbow grease". Now granted the finish wont be totally clear, will have a light haze but was enough for my applications and looked really good to where I could apply the metallic raspberry, then backed the whole panel with white again and walla! A different color scheme that not everyone has.
