| Body mounting
Hello all....I have a Unimog 1500 hard body that I'm fitting to my SCX10-II and I can't figure out a front mount arrangement for it. I'm trying to avoid having the posts through the hood. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks rick |

I'm using rare earth neodymium magnets to hold the lexan body on my SCX10 II. Although I'm using solid magnets, I might suggest using ones that are rings, with the ID big enough to sit over the top of the post where the body clip would go. Glue one to the body, and one to the posts, and the rings will help the body self align when you place it on top. You will need use the body posts at lower postions, of course. Some have used Velco strips to hold the body, but I might suggest trying 3M's Dual Lock strips. It looks like Velco, but will hold better, even when wet. |

I've also had success using a good, quality (3M) self adhesive velcro. It's completely invisible as far as mounting and surprisingly strong. I've been running a Yota hard body this way and have had zero issues.

Thanks guys.....I ordered a set of magnet mounts, and I picked up a 2 types/brands of Velcro to try. Also picked up an idea about hinging the cab from the front. all are easy to try without tearing up the body....thanks again

Velcro works me. 3m truck weight is about 8 pounds.

Scx10.2 rails. I used 2 existing holes in the body for some c channel aluminum to bolt through and slid the rails in my cut out spot. Height adjustment could be made using a piece of flat aluminum. In the back i used offset body posts from a different brand and some long revo rod ends. I secured the body mount througgt the bed. My spare tire covers up the hardware somewhat. I hope this helps. It beats velcro and magnets. Sent from my LGMP260 using Tapatalk |
