| where to get Blazer mirrors that are NOT RC4WD?
finishing touches going on my sons ascender with blazer cab... and the RC4WD mirrors are ENORMOUS. they look like dumbo ears on this truck! i really like the style and design, folding in if they hit something. brilliant. so i would like to use the same style just... smaller. am i correct that axial used to have a mirrors parts tree with something like these on it? i cant find them anywhere but I've seen them on some youtube vids (coleman or maybe GCM or SBG?). HALP? |

You can cut a chunk out of the RC4WD ones and glue them back together like on Noob's Chevy. |

So I've been looking around for K5 mirrors myself, except enormous sounds appropriate for my Ascender K5 body. I came across a picture with what look like the correct mirrors, but too small for me, maybe they're what you're looking for? Are these different, or are they the RC4WD mirrors? (the link is for emblems, but look at the mirrors in the 2nd picture) : Scale body embleme | Chevy Blazer K5 3D Embleme Sticker | RCMODELex - specialized for RC rock crawling, trial and expeditions These are similar: Rubber mirror for Hilux | RCMODELex - specialized for RC rock crawling, trial and expeditions All the 3d printed ones I've seen have looked like @$$. |

I think Tamiya Blackfoot/Clod mirrors will work too.

What about waiting for the Traxxas ones to become available on a parts tree? They're smaller, and might not take much to modify them to fold in if they hit something...

hmm Tamiya parts... i would feel bad banging those plastic chrome pieces on rocks. and i actually do like the idea of the rubber mirrors you linked earlier. the traxxas blazer... comes with the smaller mirrors (of the two options for blazers that year) that wouldn't look right on the RC4WD door since they have the indention where the foot of the larger mirror fits. yeah, im picky. my son actually suggested some carbon fiber mirrors seen on most drift cars. im not opposed to that since his truck is a modified "truggy" style build without a bed. and those hilux mirrors are similar shaped, i noticed there is a subtle difference... they have a sort of "pyramid" profile to them, where a blazer mirror is more of a dome. fehhhh… maybe i just try nOOb's solution in the meantime. but i will probably end up getting gthose black rubber hilux mirrors from the auction site. thanks for the help, everyone!!! |
