I would... yes. And anytime that you have even a small piece of lexan laying around, it's always best to do a test first. But otherwise yeah metallic blue backed with silver. Tip: Go lightly and evenly with each color coat. Then, always hold the body up to the light and look thru from underneath/ inside. That way you're able to see if it might need another coat of color before the backer. Sometimes out of the light and from the outside of the body, it may appear that you're ready for backer... when in actuality there may still be some areas that reveal another coat or two of color may be necessary ( usually around areas that are harder to access or areas where there are bends in the lexan).

Thank you the part I forgot to say is this is a black body now and know it will get scratched up but on this one will be painting it on the outside so should it be my silver down first then after it is dried good tape off what is to stay silver and then shoot the blue on her? Yes sliver base, blue over it if you are painting on the outside.

| Re: Painting for newbie If the scratches are on the inside, don't worry, they wont show once painted. If they on the outside, well they will show, but I would still leave it alone, as polishing Lexan to the degree you would need to make it perfect is beyond most folk's abilities (my own included). When I'm having that issue, a sticker place over the scratch will make it disappear, and if applied judiciously, can be integrated with the overall paint scheme.

That looks fantastic! Are those the TRX rims or aluminum bead locks? They look fabulous and really fit the era for the Scout. |
