Default weld-on #16 - Post hole filling?

I'm looking for a way to fill post holes in a new unpainted body. Has anybody used weld-on #16. It "fills gaps in acrylic" (i.e. polycarbonate/lexan) and dries clear.

Lexan isn't acrylic. Lexan is cast polycarbonate. Plexiglass is cast acrylic. You could give it a try...but, it might not hold. Polycarbonate and acrylic are two entirely different plastics.

Not exactly filling them, but I've used small, plastic plug grommets to "cover" post holes in bodies. These are generally available in the hardware sections of places like HD, Lowes, Ace, etc.

Here's a pic of them being used on my HPI FJ body that I mounted magnetically on my TRX. I was going to spray the ones on back white to blend with the roof, but honestly, they don't even bother me.

Yeah I was going to suggest those little plastic screw caps from hardware store. They come in all different sizes, could probably insert and glue from underneath then paint if you are painting the outside of the body.

I haven’t used the 16 stuff but I’ve used Weld on 3 to bond lexan and it works. They both list polycarbonate as suitable use so I assume it would bond but not sure if it will fill a gap as large as a body post hole.

This would be my method. First I would adhere a piece of lexan to the inside as a backing, then I would cut a piece to fit the hole and adhere it in place using e6000. Smooth the surface over and let it dry

What I do is essentially what these dudes described but here's my step by step:

Glue a backer plate under the hole using Shoe Goo or E6000 (this doesn't have to be polycarb, anything will do)
Put a small piece of polycarb in the hole to mostly fill it (you could actually skip this step and just use filler)
Fill in the gap using a slurry of CA glue with baking soda mixed in
Sand to smooth

These are the things I was talking about. I pretty much thrash my bodies so not worried about a little bump (or a hole for that matter lol) so might not work if you are going for an uber scale look. But would hardly see it once painted. I have a pile of these in my shop and use them for all kinds of things.

I used one of those resin pens. Masking tape the outside, fill the hole and use the uv light to harden. That has worked well and takes paint on the outside. For my basher I backed the resin with e6000 just to ensure it holds. Something like this but bought at Lowes
