How do you think the Fiesta body would fit on it? I ordered the new rally friday but im considering returning it and getting a roller and doing what you did.

Do you already have a slash 4x4? If it was me I would actually order the RTR and sell the body, wheels, and radio because the "rollers" that are on ebay are way to much right now. I did the math and if you have the capability to sell the other parts then It makes more sense to buy the RTR. The Fiesta body looks like it would fit fine with a little trimming around the rear wheel wells. Actually I might order a clear fiesta body and do something different on it. If I had money to throw away I would have my buddy custom paint it to look just like the RTR body on a new traxxas 1/10 rally and send some pics to traxxas "attention design department". Thanks so such for this 'how-to' thread. I've always wanted some type of go-fast rig but the Slash 4x4 I had last year just didn't do it for me. I'll find another Slash and do a Rally conversion to it, it should provide the durability that I want along w/ easy to find ( and inexpensive) replacement parts that will be needed to fix crash damage. |

No Slash, Still havent decided what i wanna do. Its just the body that is sooo ugly to me. If i keep it I was planning on selling the RX/TX. I got the green because i wanted to do a ken block fiesta paint like the HPI but bigger. And because of tower ezpay otherwise i would have got the DRX. I was kicking around the idea of getting the new traxxas 1/10 rally. Sell the wheels/Tires and burning the body in protest and posting it on you tube. I just want to see how well the lcg handles. Doubt it will be ground breaking difference considering the environment I drive these in. I would still cut the arms and use a Kyosho body though. | |

Although the Traxxas is bigger. I think it is a good competitor against the DRX. The Traxxas has a real nice layout. Very nice design. It turns like no other. It throws it's weight around like a rag doll. It has good suspension. It just needs a makeover that's all. And tires, tires, tires. Always need tires. |

Speaking of tires for a while I have been in search of just a little more traction for this vehicle. I have ordered probably about 3 sets of tires to try and run on this car and still look kinda scale but couldn't find anything I liked. Keep in mind I wanted to use the kyosho wheel because of of the styling. With that in mind this is what I came up with. Having 2 basically new sets of the super soft style kyosho tires I decided to cut the tread patterns to allow for more bite in the looser dirt. Below is a comparison of the stock and cut version. They look and feel like they are going to do exactly what I want but unfortunately it has been raining here for 5 days and it will have to wait until the weekend for me to test them out. |

My cuz just texted me. Mine is @ my Uncles house. Still undecided on if I should keep it or not lol. Havent even completed the Brushless System in my Exo yet smh. Thinkin about stripping Rally of electronics throwing them in exo and run it like that for now. Then strip rally and sell tx/rx, Bodies, shocks, wheel & tires. And follow your rally car method. Yeah those tires look real good. Let us know what you find out and how many packs until worn.

How did you fit the kyosho wheels? I thought they were 14mm hex and the traxxas are 12mm?

Ok quick update. I was able to put multiple 3s packs through it over the weekend and the tires held up very well. I ran 4 packs total so far on various surfaces and can't believe the difference in traction. I'm sold on this mod and will be doing it to the other set of tires I have on white wheels. Here's some pics and vid of the day. Rear Tire Front Tire |
