it's green now

not gonna lie, I didn't really have the patience needed to make those black body trim decals look perfect. But from a distance this thing looks pretty nice.

Can you get a shot of the rear end straight on? Whats the tire coverage with that body?

thanks man. I had a hard time choosing between the lancia kit and the XV kit. I'll likely get a more proper WRC style body eventually. But for now this crosstrek look is a bit fun.

So I didn't have as much time this week to tune and feel super good about the car. I couldn't get the sway bars right, so they're not on right now.

The first CRC race is tomorrow morning bright and early. This is about as race ready as I'll be. It's kind of a daily driver rally car We'll see how it goes!

I was lucky enough to reserve one of the Citroen DS3 bodies from the Czechs. I'm totally psyched about it.

Man, I couldn't be more happy with the Bad Horsie shock covers. I've used them on other rc cars before but today was a real test. For those of you wondering, Bad Horsie's generic "extra small" shock covers fit the stock xv-01 springs quite well. I ordered both the small and extra small. If you've got an xv-01 go with the extra small. They come in a pack of 4, which when trimmed to length actually equal about 8 xv-01 shocks. Here you can see the length they come, and the two covers that I've cut down to make my 4 covers for the car. My shocks are super clean after today's rally madness,

Yes. The kit came with the regular tamiya foam. Also I put the same tamiya foam in the kyosho OEM rally tires. But the Academy rally block tires (the ones that were on the car when you test drove it) came with some other generic soft foam. Those tires came from Tough Racing

Looks great so far.

BTW the window decals that came with the body are "tinted".
