Default xv01 pro chassis

i got one on order.
I got a Subaru wrx 190mm body on order too.
will i need special body posts for this body?

also got a 23t pinion 48pitch robinson racing.

motor is tba
Esc is Castle MMP or Sidewinder (the sidewinder in my sc10 4x4 but i never use it its paired to a 4000kv motor but its a 5mm shaft. I d need 23t mod8 gear for it if i use it)

also.. hd belt and slipper clutch..

Sounds good, but the XV01 comes as a .6 mod pitch, not 48 pitch. If you get the slipper set that will then convert the car to 48 pitch and then you will be solid.

Edit: I see you are getting the slipper, so carry on.

Sometimes I wonder if it isn't just cheaper in the long run to purchase these cars (chassis) as individual parts. Buy all the hop ups you're likely to buy, then buy the rest of the plastic parts ala carte, and stainless hardware to put it together. Then all you need is a manual which (I think) is available as a PDF from the tamiya website.

its using Ty's post as a Rally Build Bible.. and saying.. ok. Basic Kit + HD Belt + Slipper Clutch seems to be the best novice upgrade.
Run the car as is til you break parts.. Upgrade with Yeah Racing aluminum as Phase II.. and see what else will need upgrading based on his post.

I created such a thing on our board for the rally thing:
XV01 Build Sheet

This is how I build like to build my rigs... Except for my xv-01s... Ala cart building is waay more fun than kits. In the case of the xv-01 though, there are a few tiny little parts that I haven't been able to find ala cart.

I think I'm going to try it and see how it goes. I've got enough projects in pieces that need reassembly, so my hands will be busy already. But I need an object on which to focus my eBay addiction. I'll keep track of the costs and then be able to determine how much more it would cost to do it that way than add hopups to a pre-made kit.

I was under the impression the slipper clutch and the HD belt came with the pro kit. If not, I'm sorry, fairly new to the rally scene.

Ah ok, I stand corrected. Just ordered my HD belt, will get my pulley's and clutch next I suppose. Same here, I don't even have the car yet and I'm into it for about 160.00

Ty said get 1XJ aluminum blocks for it too.. as it adds to less failure.
i didnt realize there are 2 of these needed .. front and rear. plus the small toe blocks as well for the front.

the front small toe are about $30 on ebay the larger blocks are about $11 ebay

Great to know! I'll be placing an order tomorrow for at least the pulley's and the upper suspension blocks as you mentioned. The clutch will have to wait. I take it with these upgrades, this will be able to withstand a 17.5T brushless? What do you plan on using if you don't mind me asking? Will be watching this thread closely as for what I'll need. Thanks very much.

i have a 3800 castle i picked up for a steal.. and a hobby wing 60amp esc..
we created a rally course and i plan on running it there..
i have a Tacon/LC Racing rally car right now.. works great.. great basher.. 4500 kv brushless shaft driven car.. i have jumped tripples and doubles on the short course track and drove it on the oval ..
still have not broken a single item other than the body..
great cheap car ~$189 rtr

The XV01 will be more to scale of 1/10 and is more a rally car than a beat on it car.. i ll post pictures when i get it in a race here

That's exactly what this rig will be built for, rally and some tarmac courses. Still looking for a cheap moded TA01 or 2 that I can lot bash with too. The only thing that concerns me is will I spend most of my time in the parking lot replacing the belt if I went brushless with this thing. But I'm guessing that's why the clutch is a good idea. This will be the shell I'm using.
