Default What HPI is it, & can it be converted?

A couple years ago a friend of mine gave me a basket case T-Maxx with a bunch of extra parts, and a nitro HPI drift car, he lost interest. The T-Maxx was trashed, he had driven it high speed into a 6" city curb, broke a lot of parts. The HPI was sitting in the bottom of the basket, looked ok, and I thought the motor was seized, because I couldn't get it to turn when I pulled the T handle. Another Buddy has a Nitro Stampede, so I had him look over the HPI motor to see if it was any good, and for his troubles I gave him the motor from the T-Maxx. Long story short, he got the HPI motor running. I have no interest in nitro, so I figured I could use the rolling chassis for an electric drift or rally car.

So here are the pics of the chassis. Is it possible to get a motor mount that will fit this set-up from the nitro engine, and what model is this, so when I order parts.

Looks to me like my old HPI Super Nitro RS4....Old old school on road car. I know they made a couple versions of the car so it may be a bit different. Mine looks similar in the top deck, drive, and other area's. But my chassis has a different hole in the middle.

It might be just the Nitro RS4.

Sorry for the crappy picture, but here is one of the chassis on mine.

Yours looks a bit wider up front, but now for the all important question, is there a motor mount that can be purchased, to mount an electric motor to, that will mesh with the spur gear without too many modifications to the existing drivetrain?

There is no direct bolt in kit to convert to electric. I have found a guy that used a Tekno mount on one like mine, but had to drill holes and what not.

The other problem is, depending on age, parts are getting hard to find. I had to do some pretty good searching for parts for mine.

If my Google-Fu is worth a dam...I believe your car is the HPI Nitro RS4 2.

It is. There is no bolt on electric kit for it, anything you do would have to be custom.

There are always parts/rollers for sale on Ebay, was a very popular car back in the day. Entire suspension is shared with the RS43 line.

Thanks guys!, I kinda figured I would be making some kind of a motor mount, but I was hoping there would have been a bolt on, but you don't know unless you ask. I've got a couple ideas on how to get the motor mounted, just need to pick up some material to work with.

I looked through the thread "JP's HPI stable" and there's a number for an aluminum mount in there, and Tower Hobbies has a variety of motor mounts that I can possibly try.

I like the Techno mounts. Can pretty much bolt them anywhere on a flat surface (if you have room to do so of course)

Sitting on my converted HPI. Made an adapter plate to use the existing nitro mounts.
