Got super excited when the box with japanese letters came, this was inside: Thats a lot of parts.... Pretty detailed manuals: Tiny diff is tiny: Diffs done! Boom front gearbox! Fresh white painted body: Wish E30 suspension was this well designed: Stickers anyone? Ready to rock! Not really, missing all the go fast parts. Installed these parts: Castle Creations Sidewinder SV3 and 6700kv Motor (overkill as ****) Savox 1251MG low pro .10 servo (also overkill) Spektrum SR410 and DX3C controller 5000mah turnigy 2S Lipo Looking dusty after first run: Rally Drilled more vent holes cause it was overheating. Made a little vent for the ESC and Transmitter Made some mud flaps out of a roll out piece of rubber: Rip stock pinion and spur: How it looks now: IMG_0655 by Wschnitz, on Flickr Tires are going bald, and you can see my Losi Mini 8ight shocks here, full anodized aluminum and coated strut shafts, better then bilstien?: IMG_0658 by Wschnitz, on Flickr IMG_0660 by Wschnitz, on Flickr I seem to break everything that isnt something that should break. Anyone know of a steering arm/horn for the savox i could use vs the crappy plastic tamiya one? The tamiya one flips back and forth making steering off by like 5-10* each way. Also need to grab another set of wheels and tires for this thing, the originals are nearly gone from the power sliding. |

Any decent AL 25t servo horn should work. I've not used an AL horn on my xv-01, I just have lots of spares and use replacement stock plastic stuff... Looks like you've been having fun with that car! totally awesome! |

I ended up using some JB weld on the steering servo horn to stop the swaying in each direction, no more getting stuck 10* off each way. The losi shocks are the bomb, way better then stock, I do need to get the longer travel shock mounts soon however. Car is currently going to be out of use as im a broke college kid. But thinking about picking up a much slower front gearing for my birthday, along with some tires, wheels, and a new body. Im leaning towards a bugeye subie, but there are so many choices. also need to pick up a new motor plate, still dont know how I stripped the threads on that one, im thinking something got in the threads and was binding. |

Very nice XV-01. Like the little ESC tent. I have an odd question though. Did you do anything different to get your DX3c to pair with the sr410? I can't seem to get mine to bind. I read it was because of the dsmr in the receiver that they won't communicate. Anyways, just interested how you got it to work. |

Ordered a 34T pinion and 77T spur. After tearing up 3 sets of gears I think its time to slow the speed down a bit. Also got a busaru body and some bronze TE37s for maximum scene points. |
