Default XV-01 e-ring won't fit on middle shaft

The e-ring groove on the middle shaft (BA19) that holds on the outside pully is covered up by the pully itself. I can't install it. This is for both the front and rear gearbox. It's like just a millimeter shy of working. Any ideas? Oh, I also just noticed in the margin of the instructions that "files and drills will be used for fine adjustment". Do I just lightly file on the outside of the pully until I can see the e-ring groove? Thanks,
Todd

Finally got it. Ended up lightly sanding the outside of the pully to help expose the e-ring groove and then used an awl to make a slight concave impression in the plastic NN4 spacer on the other side so that I could fit in the cross pin.

i had the same problem when i was building the XV-01. i dont know if it is just a bad luck, or just design flaw. i did not have a sand paper, so i had to use a sharpening rock!
